Almost excellent, but definitely good

I had lunch at Lumiere on Friday. It's a very quaint and cosy restaurant with excellent service. The menu is not that large, but good. Both of us had nuslisalat for starters and it was swimming in dressing - what a pity. It's a Swiss thing actually because I get it wherever I go and normally ask... read more

Not a lot to say here, an excellent place to eat in a very small restaurant. It fills up quickly on weekend so make sure you reserve early. People tend to cal it a bit pricey but I think for Zurich it is still a very good value.

This place is seriously tiny but omg so good. I can not decide what I like most about this place: the incredibly good food, super friendly and efficient service or the buzzing happy atmosphere. Well, I guess put these three together and you have an amazing restaurant. French is not my favourite cusine but everything they do is really delicious.... More

Found this cozy little place on a work trip. We hadn't reserved but were welcomed with a smile. This place is not cheap (but then again Zurich never is, and steak in Zurich most definitely never is). A classic Entrecôte Café de Paris is their speciality...sliced (medium rare) ribeye in a classic butter sauce, with thin fries will set you... More

Our last night of a 9 day trip my wife and I walked by and decided to eat at Lumiere in old town Zurich. In short, everything was perfect and far beyond our expectations. We were greeted with smiles and help with our coats. We had no reservation on a Friday night, but we arrived early enough that they offered... More

Lumiere is a small french style bistro restaurant in the old town in Zürich. Service is great, which is unusual in Zürich. Food is delicious. We had the beef filet cafe de paris which was very tender and precisely cooked like we wanted it. The dessert, tarte au citron was fantastic as well. We will definitely be back. It's a... More

Right in the heart of the old town and very convenient for the Hotel Widder, this bistrot style restaurant serves proper traditional French dishes. I enjoyed a very flavourful calve's kidney in a mustard sauce. Service is efficient. The patrons are mainly local. Prices are all right for the centre of Zurich.

The review long due and every time it proves to be a pleasant choice. It is not easy to find a place in the center of Zurich that combines the French bistro setting AND the quality of the food together. You won't be disappointed. The restaurant is more an autumn/winter place for me I really like the cosy and smaller... More

I really enjoyed my visit here. The menu is reasonable in scope but as it is Zurich do not expect cheap! Our dinner party had foie gras followed by steaks and coq au vin - all delicious. The wine was also excellent. But I think the service quality and friendliness really made it special. With intelligent servers and great ambiance... More

The food is awesome, service is great (they speak several languages), location perfect and decoration really cute. Only downside, it is very expensive… 160.- CHF for 2 persons with salad, meat and water...
