Excellent Cuisine under the Spotlight

We had dinner there and the food was exceptional and the wine list superb (if pricey). Truly excellent and inventive from start to finish (vanilla ice cream with 3 different fruit sauces to die for). Liked eating tapas at outside cafe. Server was also very helpful. Wine - not too expensive and nice Swiss choices.

The service here is a little slow but it is good and they know their food. My main course was the fish special and it was absolutely delicious. It was made with flair and carefully chosen ingredients. The homemade ice cream for dessert is absolutely delicious. I would recommend this particularly for a business dinner.

Modern and classy restaurant. We loved the service here! The Manager and the wait staff made us feel so welcome and were full of smiles and warm wishes. We started with the marinated tuna fish and parpadelle. I had the lamb as my entree which was delicious. We had a wonderful experience here and would recommend this restaurant to others.... More

Simple but modern ambiance, excellent service without pretentious and delicious food. All,the necessary components for a very pleasant dinner. Do try the fish of the day ( in my case it was sole) and absolutely the vanilla ice cream ( sounds banal , but it isn not). Prices are reasonable for Zurich downtown.

What a fantastic experience and end of our holiday! We went to Sein for lunch and had the business man's menu with dessert and coffee? The food and presentation was of an extremely high standard, every dish was explained to us. This is definitely not your " average family on holiday" restaurant- it is in a class of it's own,... The restaurant "Sein" ("to be") is located very centrally in Zurich downtown, but kind of tucked away in a side street, not that easy to find. We were a party of 4, of whom only 3 were there at the agreed time, the 4th came late, and a 5th person joined even later without a reservation. All this was absolutely... More

We visited Sein as a table of 4 in November to celebrate a 50th birthday. We opted for the CHF 175 5 course menu with a couple of bottles of wine. The food was fantastic, with 'surprises' between each course. I must admit to not liking the final 'surprise', and the desert course, but this was personal taste rather than... More

We dined at Sein on 12 September 2014. At our request for a quiet area, we were seated at a nice corner near the glass wall, looking out into the city street. I really like that the restaurant is simple but classy in design. It's almost like a square hall and I felt like I was dining in my own... More

Some time ago, I went to lunch at Sein, a Michelin 1* restaurant just off the Bahnhofstrasse. Dinner may have been cost prohibitive, but the lunch menu had several good and affordable Business Lunch offerings. The staff were excellent, probably very casual based on what I have previously seen elsewhere in Zurich, but that was fine. The waiter guided me... More
