I visited Zur Waag for my partner's birthday in February. The service was exceptional & the food even better. Perhaps the Scandinavian Band who appeared latterly would not be to all tastes but this provided much entertainment to our table if perhaps a little surreal. For Zürich the value is good as many comparable meals, served in settings not so... More

We had an informal dinner with a group of about 10 persons, choose it by chance just wondering through the Old City in search of a nice place to eat outside in the evening of what happened to be one of the hottest days in Zurich. The restaurant is just next to Fraumunster in the little piazetta behind the church,... More

Booked this restaurant for a conference dinner for 145 people. Everything was perfect and the staff were friendly, efficient and helpful from the initial contact, booking arrangements to the evening itself. The food was delicious, wine was excellent, surroundings were beautiful both in the Zunfthaus and in the wonderful cloisters of the Fraumünster where we had our pre-dinner aperitif. I... More

The best of the several guild houses in the heart of the old town. A building with more than 700 years history. A small restaurant. Not cheap but every CHF is it worth. Sepp Wimmer is the host. You feel like at home.

We travel a lot and love to eat out. We rely on Trip Advisor reviews all of the time but this one was definitely a miss. Our experience was terrible from start to finish. We were greeted quickly and informed that they had a "special table" just for us upstairs. We were escorted to a private room with a huge... More

I went to "Zunfthaus Zur Waag" !!!! for a business dinner and all of us had a great time, even though most of the time we were talking about business. The service was great and efficient, food was amazing, the décor is cosy and welcoming. We were greeted by the owner of the restaurant , who was so hospitable and... More

Our institute has a formal (award) dinner at the Zunfthaus zur Waag every year. A historic guilde house is of course a great backdrop for such an event, especially for international guests. When the event happened there in 2013, the Waag was packed full, they had big dinners going on in every room they had. They still managed quite well... More

You get exactly what you can expect from the restarunt in the city center in the old bulding. And even more - not only the typical local dishes, but also some auther`s creations. Very nice atmosfere and friendly staff! Will be glad to return, if occures!

Anytime we are in Zurich we dine at this historic Guild house. The intimate second floor dining room (no more than 8 tables) creates a beautiful setting for the expertly prepared food and wonderful wine list. The Guild host Sepp Wimmer has described the staff's dedication to quality in the following way, "I am sticking with personal commitment and creativity,... More

Had a pleasant evening eating outside. The duo of melon soups was the highlight. Very expensive menu items so I was very disappointed to be charged for tap water (we did order wine in addition) and the waitress making a point of indicating where we should leave a tip was rather uncalled for.
