I had lunch one afternoon then dinner the next evening. Chef Fritz entertained me and friends with delicious cuisine, drink and conversation!

Wonderful old type Swiss restaurant, near The Lake of Zug. Went there with my Sister and her Swiss husband. Great atmosphere and good food

Being a local i must say that the widder is consistently a awesome place to eat and enjoy the Piazza? Great choice including tipically Swiss specialties. The owners Fritz and Jeanette are great hosts too

We loved it, we went specifically in becasue the owner and his family are selling after 31 years in the business. They will be missed. The roesti with bacon and eggs (Swiss classic) was excellent. The biggest treat is the wonderfully charming daughter and the very friendly father who comes to the table, suggests wine and is a great conversationalist.... More

We went for lunch with the family ordering easy traditional dishes. Almost all dishes were salty and even the french fries were overcooked. The size of the meal for the price too small and served with no creativity at all.

The fondue was excellent here. The service was okay. Waitress suggested we should tip which we discovered after the fact is usually included. If you like cheese fondue it is worth a stop.

The typical Swiss fondue is available here all year long with a special chef's recipe that's really worth to be tested! In autumn, I can recommend to try the wonderful game plates made with passion by the chef. The deer plate I had was simply delicious!

Gastaus Widder is THE place we take all of our visitors. We love the cheese fondue there! It is a very friendly atmosphere, casual, and comfortable. It is a family run place for so many years, and it is still run like one. The owner is almost always on the premises and will come out and speak with you. The... More

This restaurant is very well located, and we had very friendly waiters. The menu has a wide selection of Swiss and also South African meals. Food quality was good, presentation as well. One key point to improve is the time to serve (2 hours between arrival and main meal served...), and at that point some of the meals were quasi... More

Really pittoresk restaurant with really good food! Service friendly and with a touch of "beeing at home".
