Rustic environment, borderline "kitsch". Very (very) slow service, strong grilled meat smell throughout the dining rooms. Friendly but not ver professional Swiss staff, but food is OK. Nothing particularly special, but not bad. Will I go back? Most probably not!~ About 35 CHF per person for one dish and one drink

Restaurant Baren is nice, the food is not very special but they have interesting themes and often have live music which can be quite loud therefore it is not the place to go and have a good talk. But it is a nice experience....

Our party did not speak German and were a bit hindered as the menu was only printed in German. Although the server did not speak English, she asked the chef to come to our table to translate the menu. This is a quite authentic Swiss place. It is usually crowded, a bit noisy but the food is excellent. We had the entrecote on hot stone and enjoyed the whole experience, but apparently Restaurant Baeren is better known for their cordon bleu.
