Description: The Museum is situated in a historical building in the old town of Montreux...
The Museum is situated in a historical building in the old town of Montreux and it is less than 10 minutes walking distance from the main train station.

Founded in the early years of the worldwide known Montreux Jazz Festival The Museum has been the place to be for many internationally known stars like Mick Jagger and David Bowie to name but a few.

The setting is traditionally Swiss with an authentic atmosphere. In summer a peaceful court invites families and friends to enjoy a meal in a relaxing environment.

The Museum accepts groups of up to 150 people and it is the ideal place for family or company events, but it is also a romantic place if you'd like to spend a privileged moment with your loved one.

The Museum honours the Swiss cuisine with many different cheese and meat fondues of the highest quality. You could also try their famous' Charbonnade', a charcoal grill on which you grill your meat according to your own taste! Most of the menus are served with the outstanding potato gratin made with chef's secret ingredients (this includes 10 different Swiss cheeses).

We look forwards to welcome you soon !

Truly Traditional Fayre

Located in what feels like some form of old cellar, the restaurant has a real oldy worldy feel to it. Unfortunately the waitress did not know the age of the place. The quality of the food is excellent even if a little basic- that is, if you eat Fondue or charbonnade then really you are doing it... read more

We dined at the restaurant on the 23rd Dec, the day before closing for Christmas Eve. Our waiter was fantastic, knowledgeable and he helped us pick the bbq option. He wasn't pushy, instead recommend we drop the fondue and try the bbq as the meat is what they're known for. We weren't disappointed, the entire experience was fantastic. If we'd... More

We wanted to have a delicious Swiss fondue on a Friday night and that is why we headed to Museum. It certainly did not let us down. We had the cheese & tomato fondue that came with potatoes and bread. It was absolutely marvelous. I personally had the "Christmas beer" too which was delightful. Dinner could not end without having... More

It's a hidden restaurant but worth visiting. It's small so make a reservation. We had half/half cheese fondue and beef. Both were good but cheese still our favorite. Staff was nice. The only complaint is that we feel a bit confined in the place and you leave with your clothes smelling smoke, like it was burning something. Probably it was... More

The cheese fondue was great, but everything here is overpriced. I believe the fondue was CHF48 per person. The place is very dark, and at some point, everyone started coughing because of the lack of ventilation and all the fumes from the fondue fires... Still, good place for a Swiss kind of dinner.

Went with a big group for a traditional Swiss dinner and we were not disappointed. Had a great big table for all of us, good wine and beer selection, and multiple beef and cheese fondues to go around, and then finished off with chocolate fondues. Wait staff very friendly and attentive. The walk up the steep cobble stone street from... More

Four of us went to Le Museum for a mid-week authentic Swiss dinner. We booked a table for 7:30pm, and upon arrival (10 min walk uphill from the train station) were given a grand round table in front of the bar inside a traditionally decorated 'cave' restaurant hall. Our attendant was attentive, friendly, nicely informal, with good English. We started... More
