Description: The Museum is situated in a historical building in the old town of...
The Museum is situated in a historical building in the old town of Montreux and it is less than 10 minutes walking distance from the main train station. Founded in the early years of the worldwide known Montreux Jazz Festival The Museum has been the place to be for many internationally known stars like Mick Jagger and David Bowie to name but a few. The setting is traditionally Swiss with an authentic atmosphere. In summer a peaceful court invites families and friends to enjoy a meal in a relaxing environment. The Museum accepts groups of up to 150 people and it is the ideal place for family or company events, but it is also a romantic place if you'd like to spend a privileged moment with your loved one. The Museum honours the Swiss cuisine with many different cheese and meat fondues of the highest quality. You could also try their famous' Charbonnade', a charcoal grill on which you grill your meat according to your own taste! Most of the menus are served with the outstanding potato gratin made with chef's secret ingredients (this includes 10 different Swiss cheeses). We look forwards to welcome you soon !

Traditional Swiss Eatery

This was a very good restaurant with good fondue choices on the menu. The decor inside the restaurant was very rustic.

Seems inviting but disappointing, due to very simple local swiss dishes, without any imagination and not even typical music available.

Rarely do we eat at the same restaurant twice while on vacation. The goal is to try all kinds of restaurants with all kinds of decors, views, locations, etc. But we broke that tradition with Restaurant Le Museum. And believe me, it’s not easy to get to it. We were staying way down the hill on the shores of Lake... More

The concierge at the Montreux Palace recommended this restaurant for an authentic Swiss dining experience, and that's exactly what we got. We took a taxi up the hill, unless you feel like braving the hike up the road, which is not too bad if time is on your side. The moment you walk through the door, it's like stepping back... More

We arrived in Montreux today and strolled the lake shore, but wanted to have some swiss fondue for dinner. Thanks to TA for leading us to Le Museum as we had a wonderful meal in a great atmosphere with good wine. We ordered the cheese fondue to start, and then had the Charbonnade Beef and Trilogies where you cook your... More

It is worth taking the uphill walk from Montreux lakefront to the old city. It is a small, traditional restaurant, with tables in both the cellar and the patio. Rösti is the European ancestor of hash brown potatoes. They are hold together by melted cheese - could'nt be otherwise in Switzerland. The version with Tomme cheese topping can be a... More

This one topped it all!!! I had good restaurants in the last weeks in Montreux...and many good Fondues...but THIS ONE WAS BY FAR THE BEST! The place has a very unique atmosphere; already at the entrance you have the feeling this will be special, and when you get inside you have the feeling you are either in for a great... More

We booked a table for 8 people on Friday evening via trip advisor and received confirmation. When we arrived at the restaurant the very surly waitress said she didn't have a booking for us, refusing to believe that we had actually booked. They did however have a table luckily but it was huge ,for at least 10 . When we... More

I had the best Roesti of my life. The Fondue is awesome and the location is really nice. A little Caveau with a lot of charm. The waitress pretended not to speak English a lot, but she did just fine, which was a bit funny. But the food is really, really good.
