I am a huge fan of Ethiopian food and I am a regular at Abyssinia. I like a lot their warm and friendly customer approach and the food it terrific. First of all, the portions are great and you can take all-you-can-eat for just a couple of francs more, but most importantly, it's delicious! I vouch for the vegan option... More

visited the restaurant for my brothers birthday dinner. Awesome meal with the local traditional crepe dish. Tasty and well served, the dinner was a success.

Good place to eat for a different dinner: if you like to eat meat, that´s your place! The weiter was really kind and helped me a lot, explaining me all the dishes. Not hard to find, it´s only a bit out from the usual central street of Lausanne.

Abyssinia used Groupon to promote their restaurant, which means that they try to expand their clientele by offering a limited number of vouchers at a rather generous discount. Nothing wrong with that. If there are any restrictions, they are spelled out both on the Groupon site and on the vouchers that one may purchase. My son bought two vouchers, one... More

We went to eat there and had a nice meal. Food was good and staff friendly. The setting is a bit oldish but it gives you a local atmosphere. Overall, place is nice, food not too fancy but typical.

Long time without enjoying those typical dishes from eastern of Africa. Went there with a business colleague and its was what I expected: lots of flavors, full plates, many different dishes in one... eating with the hands as I used to do when I was in Ethiopia and Somalia.... had the usual tea from eastern africa was delicious... if I... We had the large vegetarian degustation menu. When we finished the first serving, the waiter directly came to offer more lentils and more bread. Good service and the food was very nice.

We went there to have dinner on a Saturday night. The place was at 7.30pm still empty and has the atmosphere of an old dusty dark pub, the service was as slow as if all the place would have been crowded. We had to wait 20 minutes for our drinks and remind the waiter twice, the food was ok although... More

The place has the charme of a cheap pub that decided to sell some food, but does not really bother about the quality. The food is so simple and without any surprise. However, the surprise comes with the bill. Its ridiculous how much money they are asking for. Well you have to consider nothing is cheap in Lausanne, but there... More

Great food but needed a little more chili. Degustation menu is good value with starter and dessert included. Nice atmosphere and a little better for me than the Red Sea or Blue Nile, but not by much.
