I walked in here because my cousin found it as the no.1 spot in Lausanne, not by choice. Doesn't say much when you walk in, however the manager who also serves, is very friendly, he can get by in english and even spanish. The atmosphere of the place is sober and cozy, but when the food comes: voila! compensates for... More

Delicious, flavoursome African cuisine at its very best. Other reviews mention the dishes being spicy, but we found them to be quite mild (but still super yummy). This is one of those perfect little places you stumble across on a side street, take one look at and know: this is either going to be one of the best meals of... More

We decided to go because all the great reviews on tripadvisor, and we were not disappointed!! The food was very tasty, and it was a lot fun eating with our hands! The food might be a little spicy for some poeple, but if you take t with the South African wine they suggest you'll be fine. I strongly recommend to... More

We were looking for some thing out of the ordinary and this was it. It was a totally new experience for us and the waiter walked us through it. We ordered a dinner for 4 which came with both meat and vegetarian choices. When we were finished the waiter offered more food which we did take him up on.(Free). The... More

We went to the New Red Sea looking for something different from the Swiss, French and Italian restaurants that are so common in Lausanne. Ethiopian cuisine sounded exotic and the great on tripadvisor encouraged us to go check it out. We made a reservation at 8pm, while the restaurant was almost empty at that time it filled up by 9pm.... More

The food was delicious and eating with your hands was fun and much more social. We ordered a 4 person platter with a good variety of foods (both meats and vegetarian). The servings were large and when we had finished sections of the platter, the server came around and asked if we would like another order of things free of... More

The food is tasty. But the atmosphere is not so good. It is a little hard to find the place. It has also limited seats for outdoor.

Great food. Great price. Great Experience. The food served here was delicious and very affordable for Switzerland. Be prepared to eat with your hands though. The owner of the restaurant was fantastic. He was extremely helpful and made sure that everyone in the restaurant was enjoying their meal.

A very simple and somehow disappointing decor. BUT typical erithrean food (which I love), very tasty, second helpings and even more, available without problems. Spicy but not too much, very nice to eat all together by hand, kids especially loved it. Authentic and good, cheap, to recommend without hesitation.

The food is so delisious. Most fun to eat from one big plate in a small group of family/friends. The owner is very inviting, friendly, uncomplicated, and his service makes one feel at home. The whole experience makes the visit round and the food that fills your tummy in such a pleasant way, unforgettable.
