Good food, but does`t deserve the rating.

At the time we went to this restaurant it was rated 5th best restaurant in Lausanne, ahead of some of the Michelin rated establishments. Had an open mind as many of the reviewers honestly said the food was good but lack of ambience was a drawback. Would agree completely, food was good and it was... read more

It is a total desaster - way too expensive for what they offer. I went there because of the good rating at Tripadvisor and was shocked what it turned out to be. Poor service, men sitting around playing cards, we waited to have diner and where cleary the only guests. Be were bitterly disappointed. The high pricing of the boring... More

At first glance, this restaurant doesn't look like much, but the smile and amiability of the staff makes up for the lack of decoration. The food was really good, the portions were copious and even with picky eaters, every one was satisfied. And then the bill came and brought us another good surprise. Despite being our meal and three beers... More

I went to this restaurant after reading the tripadvisor reviews. I was not disappointed. Manager is a friendly guy. I went by his recommendation. It was a big spread of veg, chicken and lamb dishes. Food was delicious, and serving was large. Manager even offered more lamb dish free of charge. Will definitely recommend this restaurant for all Ethiopian food... More

If you like to change and taste something different from the local food you find in the brasserie or other local restaurants this is a really good option! Went there for a dinner with my girlfriend and we really enjoyed! The restaurant is really nice furnished and make you feel in Africa service is not top but is really charming... More

I walked in here because my cousin found it as the no.1 spot in Lausanne, not by choice. Doesn't say much when you walk in, however the manager who also serves, is very friendly, he can get by in english and even spanish. The atmosphere of the place is sober and cozy, but when the food comes: voila! compensates for... More

Delicious, flavoursome African cuisine at its very best. Other reviews mention the dishes being spicy, but we found them to be quite mild (but still super yummy). This is one of those perfect little places you stumble across on a side street, take one look at and know: this is either going to be one of the best meals of... More

We decided to go because all the great reviews on tripadvisor, and we were not disappointed!! The food was very tasty, and it was a lot fun eating with our hands! The food might be a little spicy for some poeple, but if you take t with the South African wine they suggest you'll be fine. I strongly recommend to... More

We were looking for some thing out of the ordinary and this was it. It was a totally new experience for us and the waiter walked us through it. We ordered a dinner for 4 which came with both meat and vegetarian choices. When we were finished the waiter offered more food which we did take him up on.(Free). The... More

We went to the New Red Sea looking for something different from the Swiss, French and Italian restaurants that are so common in Lausanne. Ethiopian cuisine sounded exotic and the great on tripadvisor encouraged us to go check it out. We made a reservation at 8pm, while the restaurant was almost empty at that time it filled up by 9pm.... More
