We actually like to go eating into the Brasserie as it is a very personal place with a very good service and excellent food. Last month we have been there on two occassions on both of whtich we did not have a reserved table. Nonetheless the restaurant beeing full the personal has been able to arrange something nice for us.... More

I had dinner at Brasserie du Grand Chene with some business colleagues, and it was a very pleasant evening overall. The food was very tasty - we ordered a plate of oysters as starters and a selection of dishes as main course: entrecote, truffled gnocchi, fillet with Bernaise sauce, chicken curry... I had tarte tatin as dessert and it was... More

We were a party of five (with family members). The seafood was amazing, however meats and other traditional french dishes were average. Although service was usually kind it was extreemly slow. (Not great if you re having a business lunch). Overall the place is a safe bet, but they could do much better. Main dishes are around 40 chf.

When I can't think of anywhere else I return to the brasserie at the Palace, usually here several times a month and always reliable. Great choice of shellfish and Oysters to chose from as well as the a changing Plat du jour and substantial Menu. Food reliable, lovely atmosphere and somehere you'd be comfortable on your own.My favourite place is either at... More

This brasserie is linked to the Palace hotel and has a nice atmosphere with, for Swiss standards, good service. Prices are not low, as basically every restaurant in Switzerland, but the quality of the food is excellent. Especially the seafood, oysters and langoustines, is very nice. A good choice of wine. Certainly a good place to go for business diners... More

We chose this place because it was near. We were surprised with such a nice place. The service is very good and the sea food delicious.

We picked this restaurant based on all the raving reviews. We were a party of 2, ordered soup for each, 12 escargot, pan fried fish and ground beef with foie gras and truffle sauce, with a bottle of red wine. As said in the title, there was a broken piece of plastic in my french onion soup, and a swimming... More

I have eaten here perhaps 10 times. The description comfort food comes to mind. There is no new culinary ground being plowed here. Instead the menu consists of bistro classics correctly done. But that is precisely what entertains when one comes here. They have never put down a false foot. A Lausanne favorite.

The place is always buzzing any day of the week - unprecedented in CH - so make sure you reserve. If not it will be hard to find a table. It's inside the Lausanne Palace Hotel and it carries all the positive traits of it. FOOD: best beef tartare in the region! BY FAR!! Also the lamb chops are great.... More
