I was on a 3 week business trip in Geneva so have tried a number of restaurants. If i had to recommend one restaurant it would be this one, (all things considered). Have the local Fillet de perche over here, its the most reasonably priced. The duck in orange sauce is also very nice. Their desserts are lovely as well.... More

We've been for drinks and the place is crowded but in a reasonably cosy way, and drink prices are OK (for Switzerland) and pretty decent, although a bit unusual in the way they're prepared, e.g. their special black coffee served with whipped cream. That said, my last lunch there, I'll never go back again for drinks. Le Barbare is just... More

The menu isn't very big, but you can pick anything blindfolded. Fresh produces, prepared with care and skill, a real delight. The atmosphere is relaxed and cosy. The staff is helpful and friendly, but the service is a little slow. I wouldn't advise it for a quick lunch break, but it's perfect for taking your time and enjoying your company.

The weirdest vegetarian food ever. Because of a really strange mix of sweet and salty, I couldn't decide if I was having desert or a main course. I will not even try to describe the salad entrėe, which I am sure was prepared by a brokenhearted and depressed Emo Hobbit. In my opinion, this cooking is clumsy and relates more... More

This cafe is in the centre of Lausanne and you can enjoy your coffee or lunch. We did not try the dishes but we will do next time. The inside is like many years ago with elements from the past i.e. the old TV and radio and others. We will go back for sure.

We didn't try the dishes but coffee and tea was ok. Atmosphere is unique as the place has its "own" appearance and crowd. Its a must visit for sure..

Loved this place - had walked by many times. Used a visit by my vegetarian daughter to try it out. The pizza was outstanding fresh, brightly flavored, light crunchy crust, and especially important for me, the sauce was not thick and sweet as is often the case outside Italy. Also, the atmosphere was 'funky coffee house', with both young hipsters... More

Quaint, historic building in nice part of Old Town, Lausanne. Specializes in vegetarian dishes, but not exclusively, so if you're a carnivore like me, you will be happy to find a few meats sneaking onto their pizzas in their evening meal service. I actually had a salad when I was there and despite the fact that I almost always feel... More

How to escape pizzas, pasta, or cheese or meat dishes in Switzerland, on a tight budget and a tight schedule? The Café de l'Hôtel de Ville is the spot! but it is necessary to book, and not be more than 6 people. It is a small old café, decorated with fun paintings and interesting artwork. Only one choice in food... More

I lived for a year in Lausanne and by far, one of my favorite restaurants was this one. In the heart of place de la Palud, the ambiance of the restaurant, friendliness of the staff and freshness of the food makes up for an unforgettable experience. The restaurant is small and local, and its famous for its salads. Go there... More
