Fondue with a bite of history

A simple meal but prepared perfectly. I have enjoyed my fondue while reading the amazing history of this place. Just being in the second oldest serving pub with unstable table and stool just to add to the character of the place. I didn't enjoy the desert thought as it was too sweet.

We dined here on our first evening in Lausanne. This was the perfect place to experience traditional Swiss fondue. It was absolutely delicious. We also enjoyed a steak that you cook on a little heated surface that is brought to your table. The food was good and the service was great. Just a word of warning, if a local named... More

Take a glass of chasselas and a plate of charcuterie du Pays, relax and listen to locals (very locals...) talking about everything that is going on in Lausanne, a moment out of time... Tip : from the adjacent boulangerie take a "taillé aux greubons" that will for sure kill your diet resolution...

We had our first dinner here! It was very good, we went early thankfully, all the tables were reserved but they allowed to sit as long as we were finished prior to the next reservation. Service was attentive. Food was very good, the fondue was just as imagined. Delicious and rich! The walk up to the very old establishment helped... More

The food was good but the history of the restaurant was what drew us to it. It is the oldest pub in Lausanne. The service was slow but they were very nice. The fondue was excellent. My daughter got the deer and it was delicious. The place itself was very quaint and has tables outside. I would definitely make a... More

we had dinner with some colleagues a Tuesday. This claims to be the oldest ever-since open restaurant in Switzerland (1780) and the 3rd in Europe. It is a really old building, with a few tables in ground floor, and maybe 16 more seats in the 1st floor. One thing: if you want the typicall fondue, ypu have to find a... More

Went for dinner with two friends. Staff were friendly and quick to serve. Centrally located. Food was very good and at a reasonable price for Switzerland. Would come again when visiting Lausanne.

We visited on a Tuesday evening, excited for a Swiss Fondue based on other reviews on here. Unfortunately the service was absolutely terrible. The lady serving us apologised once stating she was one her own, but in the 2.5 hours we were there she could have called for extra help? One hour after finishing our fondue it was cleared away,... This is a very informal bar/restaurant on the edge of the pedestrian part of the old town. Charming interior that looks as though it has been there since medieval times, with an outdoor eating area at the front. Very small menu - basically steak, two fish dishes, or their cheese fondue speciality. One of us had the steak Parisienne with... More

This place didn't really live up to expectations judging by some of the high ratings. We didn't have fondues however. Two rostis and one steak. I felt the rosti's were a bit lacking in imagination - but perhaps that is how they are. The potatoes were pleasant enough but there wasn't much else, apart from the topping of sausage pieces,...
