Very good food and service. A - French like - relaxed atmosphere in between a Brasserie and a café. In one of the nicest streets of Lausanne, walking distance from the train station.

The ambiance is very serious. They portray them selves as a restaurant of business people. You will always find many non plane vanilla fillet cuts. if you like lungs and these starnge cuts I am sure you will enjoy it. Their salad is fantastice.

Writing a review about dining "Au Chat Noir" is not easy, because each time I went there, I was both frustrated and delighted. At first sight, the setting is pleasant. Then you realize it is really small, the seating is tight and the lack of air ventilation can be a problem for those who enjoy breathing. If that is your... More

Nice little decent place with food that's correctly presented and cooked with acceptable service though slow at times on a busy Friday night we were there. But good grief, the prices ! Even by Swiss standards, it was crazy expensive compared to what you get. The entrées on average were CHF20, the mains CHF40 and desserts CHF15. So with wine... More

This was a busy, bustling bistro, with very attentive and friendly staff and some of the most delicious food I've had in a long time. We have their autumn special of game meat with full autumn trimmings, and it was cooked beautifully. Highly recommended.

I was taken to Au Chat Noir in Lausanne by my hosts in Lausanne. The restaurant serves French cuisine but is run by a friendly Spanish family who serve up world class food. The atmosphere is that of a bistro - unpretentious, but deliciuis. I had a main course of beef with potatoes delicately sliced and baked in a wonderful... More

Have heard of this place before but never had the chance to eat despite numerous visits to LSN. Thus I took the chance the last trip and thoroughly enjoyed! I had the offer of the day which came as a huge surprise - Sting Ray Fillet! Sitting on a bed of rice. Tender and their in house Sommelier had a... More

After enjoying a delicious meal on our first visit we returned with guests. The menu had completely changed from our first visit but had as many interesting choices. We were a party of four and all ordered something different. We were all pleased with our choices. Appreciated that our server patiently went over the menu in English and also when... More
