during our summer hiking in Zermatt we found this restaurant. Hungry and tired we had a late lunch here. The food was excellent - chanterelles with pasta, homemade dessert. One of the restaurants you must love. And summer terrace is also good place to relax

Family restaurant about 30 minutes walk from the Matterhorn edge of town. Great place for a delicious long lunch.

My family spent 12 nights in Europe from the end of July to the beginning August, and the lunch we had at Zum See was hands down the best meal we had. It was also the most expensive meal of our trip but it was worth every penny. Even our picky kids loved their food. The service was warm, welcoming,... More

On a 2 week holiday in Zermatt we returned here several times because the food is so consistently good. Simple good quality ingredients cooked with real skill. This place is really well run.

This place is our favourite of the many excellent mountain restaurants in Zermatt. Nestled amongst a tiny hamplet of chalets, it's a reall find. On sunny lunchtimes you can sit outside. Inside is cosy and warm with a lovely fireplace. The tiny kitchen turns out really lovely well-prepared meals, accompanied by fine wines. We make a point of visiting Zum... More

I liked the atmosphere and vibe on the benches outside, so I started with a barley soup (CHF 10) which was delicious and then a tortelloni (CHF 29), but this one was a little bit disappointing because instead of any sauce, they had simply pour the pan's oil on it, which did not look or taste good. The service was... More

Classic Zermatt restaurant worth the time it takes to walk there. Great food, service and overall experience; I'd go back.

Zum See has it all. Stunning views, good food, friendly service and easily accessible for skiers and walkers alike. A great venue for meeting up for lunch before either walking back to town or hitting the slopes.

We hadn't booked a table at Zum See but decided to chance it. And luckily we did! A delightful Norwegian couple offered us 2 spare seats at their table and we enjoyed a delicious lunch with fabulous company! Zum See is a must visit restaurant for lunch in Zermatt. Very good wine list to suit all tastes and budgets.

Zum See is nicely located at the end of the slopes so it is easily accessible both for skiers and for walkers. The walk from town is fairly easy, under one hour and is doable ever with a baby on your back! The food was very high quality but quite expensive, same rate as some of the other finer slope... More
