A fabulous setting and really lovely staff make you feel extremely welcome her. The food is very good without being anything exceptional, but a lovely experience.

I have been to the Zum See several times over the years. It is a lovely little traditional log cabin restaurant on the run down from the Klien Matterhorn into Zermatt. You can either sit inside or outside and the food is sensational and varied and the wine list is exceptional (although can be a little eye watering). The food... More

We loved this restaurant. Next to the lower slopes below Furi we enjoyed wonderful calves liver and Rosti basking in the sunshine looked after by charming staff. Highly recommend.

I was advised to book Zum See at least a couple of weeks prior to my ski trip which turned out to be excellent advice as it gets very booked up. Fourteen of us had a variety of two and three course lunches with wine all of which was served with charming efficiency. I always like to test a new... More

We had lunch at Restaurant Zum See recently. We were a large group but were very well accommodated (we did book). The service was adequate (they were very busy) and the food was lovely. It has a warm atmosphere and staff are very friendly. If I happened to ski past there again, I will definitely stop for a bite!

This took a little bit of getting too but the huge asparagus, goulash, swiss style rostis and seafood were great as was the wine that washed it all down. And when your all done its a short run down back to the taxis waiting to run you back into Zermatt. Well worth a visit

Warm March day we skied the slush down to Zum See and had the meal of a lifetime. We sat at a long table up by the old sheep barn with an incredible view of the Matterhorn. Service was outstanding and perfectly paced, wine was excellent, salads amazing and the entrees hearty and delicious. Go on a sunny day, sit... More

Max & Greti have been running this small, outstanding restaurant for 30 years. You need to seek it out because they serve some of the finest food you will find anywhere in Switzerland at very reasonable prices. You should consider making a reservation during the busy ski season so you are not disappointed, as it is filled by locals &... More

Skiing back to Zermatt from Furi on the wide track which proves very good fun and always raises a smile we came across the Zum See Restaurant sign. A little blue temporary plasti cloth sign by the left side of the track half way down. Having been to most of the other large motorway cafe style piste eatery's this place... More
