Nice but service a little off

My husband and boys skied down from the Gonergrat to meet me for lunch. I hiked up the trail from Zermatt - about 30 minute uphill hike to reach Zum See. We had a very nice lunch, it is a charming location, just off the slope. A good wine list and simple well prepared food.

Can not describe the experience. Definitely one of the best places I've been to in the world. Took the lift to Furi and walked down. Totally worth it.

This is probably one of the best mountain restaurants in the world. Nothing fancy, just genuine great craftmanship in a fantastic, authentic alpine setting. Great view of the Matterhorn and personal and friendly service.

A brilliant lunch opportunity , hidden on the way to from Furi to Matterhorn station. Difficult to find despite some strong signboards but certainly worth the trip. All meals were great - within the 60 CHF pp price range which is standard in Zermatt whether or not you like it.

A dining experience at the Zum See never disappoints. We never go to Zermatt without stopping by for lunch, but you need to book to be sure of a table. A warm welcome, excellent service and delicious food are guaranteed.

This is a restaurant that is massively popular with Zermatt regulars. It is either a long walk from the town or a short skiddy ski back to the bus stop. It packs in diners - expect to share a table and make new friends! Everything was good and we all marvelled at the ability of Zum See's team of four... More

Just below Furi on the final run down to Zermatt sits the Zum See restaurant. A collection of wooden buildings purported to be 300 years old, this is an idyllic location. The food is excellent with warm friendly service.

We do come here every year on our ski vacation. Very often selecting the same dishes (because they are good). Personally a like liver. The closed patio expands the outside area
