The Fondue here was the best I've ever had. I had the spicy fondue. Wow. This place was tough to get a resv at but it was worth the trouble. The staff was amazing too. I know it's hard to believe that any one fondue is better than all the others... but it was. I was the only one at... More

Had a lot of history behind this restaurant. I guess the restaurant was named after a person who first climbed the Matterhorn, I think. But the most important...I had the Cheese Fondue and it was amazing!!! The ice creams sold at the front as desserts after the lovely Fondue made my life. The hosts were gracious and treated us as... Let's be clear, Swiss don't eat there, but you will find there guest from the rest of the world. The atmosphere is cosy and the decoration typically swiss. The waitress was very nice and friendly. In the end we had a very relaxing evening with our kids, but the food was definitely not oustanding. We had the raclette, and you... More

Get a reservation: you will need it! The place is tiny with few tables, so make sure you reserve well in advance. Very cozy place but loud and warm inside. Really good raclette, one portion was plenty for a 'taster' to accompany a dinner of less-heavy food. Service was a bit slow but again, it was a really busy Tuesday... More

This was our first meal in Zermatt and we were very excited for fondue. However, most of the other places we ate at were superior. We had some trouble trying to decide what and how much to order - the waitress was fairly rude and short with us, so that didn't help. My overall rating would probably be +1 star... More

Felt like having some Switzerland food on my birthday. Got to experience Raclette and Fondu Switzerland style. Food was great. Service was good. Great place to unwind after a day of skiing.

We will definitely return to this quaint restaurant. It is very cozy and our waitress was really lovely. The proprietress is omnipresent and keeps things running smoothly. The cheese fondue was fine. The tables around us were eating the meat fondue and seemed to really, really love it. It was a nice atmosphere. The only downside is it is difficult... More

Recommended because this restaurant served cheese fondue, meat fondue and rachelette cheese and was every bit as good as it sounds! Make a reservation...or go early to dinner. Our server, Danielle, was super friendly and great with our kids age 3 &5. The restaurant is cozy and charming and decorated with a homey, hole-in the wall feel but is far... More

This restaurant is named for the Whymper who was the first to reach the summit of the Matterhorn. There is a plaque dedicated to him on the outside of the restaurant. We were seated in the back room which was very cozy and had typical decor of the area. We ordered the 3 cheese fondue for four. The 3 cheeses... More

The restaurant was recommended by our hotel concierge for best fondue in Zermatt. We were greeted by the very welcoming owner such a lovely lady. The restaurant is very cosy and has a relaxed atmosphere, service is great and staff are friendly. Plates of melted raclette and bubbling pots of fondue are delivered to tightly packed tables. We tried the... More
