We walked in without a reservation and were warmly welcomed. Our amazing waitress spoke German, French and English flawlessly and provided friendly and efficient service. The standard German food was good.

This is a typical Swiss-style restaurant. It is very charming and small and quaint. You enter from the side of the building down some steps so it can be easy to miss. Make a reservation as it can get very busy. The food was very good and this is a definitely a great place to eat!

The food is absolutely scrumptious and the service was very good. The choice of food was good. The old building is very atmospheric and there is a lively ambience. Good for families or groups or couples. Definitely book in advance!

We have been there with the kids and my mother last year and now with our American part of the family. Great again, take some different fondues and just enjoy the great hospitality! I would recommend a reservation as this place is very central and people would know that's nice! For Zermatt it's very fair priced :-)

We had dinner at Whymper-Stuble while staying in Zermatt. We had a salad and cheese and mushroom fonde to share which was plenty of food for the two of us. The food was good and the atmosphere was great, with very friendly staff. Good value for money.

We weren't particularly taken with the food. The atmosphere was fun, the service great, but the food and prices weren't that impressive. The backstory of this place is interesting.

Wow what a meal and service. We had a gorgonzola fondue and a cheese fondue with mushrooms, Both served with bread and potatoes! This was excellent! At the end of our meal one of the lades working at the restaurant Asked us if we wanted the "crust", the burned cheese in the bottom of our pans - DON'T miss out... More

My husband and I truly had one of the best restaurant experiences we have ever had. Let me set the scene. It's a beautiful evening. You're in Switzerland (aka paradise) sitting outside overlooking the mountains and trees. You order a bottle of local Heida wine (definitely a must!) and the meat fondue. When the food starts to arrive the server... More

We ( just 2 of us) walked in just after 6 without reservations, and the hostess gave us the only table left (a 6 seat table) - with the condition that we didn't mind sharing if another party came in. We didn't mind, and were SO GLAD they were so accommodating! We had an appetizer of raclette, cheese fondue (served... More

My husband and I found this restaurant to be friendly great value. The street frontage would have you believe that the restaurant is quite contemporary and small but in fact it was traditionally decorated, rather like the tardis and very busy. Still, we were seated, wined and dined without any hint of trouble, and for the two hours we were... More
