We visited this restaurant several times during a recent holiday stay, and found it a great choice. Although the menu is not huge, the food was always prepared to a high standard using fresh local ingredients, the service was consistently friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere was pleasant. It was also reasonably priced, and in our opinion one of the... More

Best to make reservation because it's quite a popular restaurant! We just popped our head in an hour before dinner and made the reservation. We had cheese fondue which was great, but the best of the night was their Raclette!! Yum! Staffs are friendly and speak English.

We were looking for something different to eat while in Zermatt and Whymper-Stube fit the bill. The atmosphere is casual with excellent service but the food the beat our expectations. I ordered grilled boar which was delicious and served with an excellent sauce.

My family had the pleasure of eating here June 19, 2014 after a trip up the mountain to see the Matterhorn. You have to look for this restaurant as it is down some stairs outside and through a curtain. We were there early afternoon and didn't have to wait at all. We absolutely loved it! The food was great...and we... More

Friends recommended this as one of the best restaurant in Zermatt. This is on the opposite end of the Main Street from the train station that one would typically arrive in or leave Zermatt by train. The entrance, rather unassuming, is on the side of the building. We went there about 7PM when it was peak dinner time. The restaurant... More

Our hotel recommended this place for authentic Swiss fondue, and they were right! it was delicious! 4 of us shared a large pot of swiss fondue, with bread and potatoes for dipping. very filling, enough for a meal. Highly recommend!

It was recommended that we try the cheese fondue at Whymper-Stube and we are so glad we did. It was wonderful; hot and bubbly with Swiss cheeses, fingerling potatoes and bread cubes. My grand daughter and I ordered the Fondue for two and there was more than we could finish. Many locals eat here and that in itself is a... More

Tried their cheese fondue but I loved the Raclette even more. Reservation is necessary as there are limited seating at the place.

After a few drinks at Bar Gigi we went here for a delicious meat fondue - it is known as one of the best in Zermatt and it certainly was fantastic. The waitress was so helpful and efficient, the food was beautifully fresh and the wine we chose was excellent. The vegetables that came with the meat were simple and... More

Best fondue in Zermatt - and maybe Switzerland, and possibly the world. Make sure to double confirm your reservation - they'd somehow lost ours (lucky i had the email saved on my phone). Don't go tired - give yourself the whole evening to enjoy this place!!
