Best fondue in Zermatt - and maybe Switzerland, and possibly the world. Make sure to double confirm your reservation - they'd somehow lost ours (lucky i had the email saved on my phone). Don't go tired - give yourself the whole evening to enjoy this place!!

Bit surprised when u get reminded by the oberstumpffuehrer/owner that we need to finish by 8.30pm for their second service. Their service management needs improvement. Very kind waitress though. Fondue Bourguignone was good except the super heavy sauces and dripping with dressing side salads.

Authentic Swiss cuisine and a room with history, not a tourist trap. Accommodating staff who handled our multiple changing of reservations with patience and kindness. We had the the Whymperstube Fondue "filet" it was amazing . The restaurant has a very nice ambience with pictures from Edward Whymper's first ascent of the Matterhorn.

Although I've had many fondues in some the highest recommended addresses in Geneva this has to be the real deal. I'm not just talking about the food but the whole experience. Usually in fondue restaurants it's over and you're out in little over an hour, here we settled in comfortably in the homely and friendly surroundings. We started with viande... More

This is one of the most well-known restaurants in Zermatt, right off the main square - and while the food is good and so is the service, the cost is high even for Zermatt. I'd give it a pass and visit some of the other excellent restaurants that are just as convenient but less expensive.

This is a great place in Zermatt with really delicious fondue and very friendly waiters. It is quite full so very important to reserve in advance. The prices are not too high considering the high prices in Zermatt.

Very nice place, good service, alpine atmosphere and delicious fondue ): tried both cheese and meat. All good. Side dishes were a bit small but we were full :)

We eat there every year, we've been skiing in Zermatt for over 15 years and we always eat here. We like the atmosphere, the service and what it represents. We always ask for raclette and quality is always the same, very good. Until next year!!!

We tried to get in here two nights in a row without a booking and failed. Booking is essential and they have two sittings. 6:30 and 8:30. It's a great cosy Swiss restaurant that has a warm atmosphere. They specialize in fondue which brings a nice smell to the place. We had steaks which were great. Service is quick and... More

Definitely well known around town to be THE best fondue place. We are really glad we tried it and thought the cheese was very high quality and the place was designed as a cute little Swiss chalet- very authentic atmosphere and surely an experience not to miss when in Switzerland. Keep in mind though that the cheese fondues can sometimes... More
