Good food and friendly staff- open in the off season - very enjoyable. Note- restaurants only serve food until 9-10pm which can sometimes be a surprise to the unwary traveller
I had dinner here tonight and the food was wonderful and the service was great. I ordered the lamb Mongolian which was very good.
We were so glad to find an excellent Asian restaurant in Zermatt. We ordered the sweet and sour chicken and vegetable lo mein and they were delicious. The prices are a little high and the atmosphere was just okay since we dined outside where there were smokers, always a negative. The food is first-rate.
Unexpectedly, we stumbled on the Chinese Garden and ordered 3 completely different dishes, a chicken, duck and vegetarian together with appetisers. To our surprise, the food was delicious and authentic, the sauces rich and flavourful, by far the best we've had in Switzerland.
The China Garden, in Zermatt was fantastic! We have been travelling for some weeks through Europe, and were after a change from pizza, pasta and bread! This was more than we could have asked for! The location is in the heart of Zermatt, and the restaurant itself is very authentic and gorgeous inside. The waiter was great, speaking a lot... More

The food is excellent here. I had the set meal and it was soooo tasty. It is a bit pricey but it's well worth pushing it.
If you are getting bored with the usual Swiss cuisine then The China Garden is well worth a visit, efficient and friendly service some great dishes and a relaxing and calm atmosphere, great after a full day of skiing.
Like most of restaurants in Zermatt - you need to book a table in advance as it is always busy. I am not a fun of duck but just wanted to try the duck with 3 sauces and it was great indeed, crispy and well seasoned. My husband was less enthusiastic about his beef in satay sauce but overall the... More
