Take a walk around this part of Zermatt just off the main street to see the remaining houses and barns from centuries ago. It is a very interesting area.

Visited the 'Old Zermatt' on several occasions during our stay in Zermatt, usually as a large group. We were always made to feel very welcome by the staff. Nothing was too much trouble for them.

Great service , delicious food, nice restaurant. I wish the hotel concierge would recommend us this restaurant instead of all the others which were not good even half as this one.

Me and my husband had the best dishes here. The Deer and the Jugged Venison was out of this world, we have eaten in Michelins stars before but this place was just WOW. Each mouthful was like heaven. The portion was great. Come here if you want to taste something to remember!

We were actually here in September 13 and the service was excellent. We sat for a drink to watch the sun set on the Matterhorn and then returned later for dinner. Food was excellent.

I was there for dinner tonight, we wandered on the place by chance deciding to try something on the other side of the river, and I am glad we did. Great service, great food, an an extensive wine list with reasonably priced selections. I had the cordon bleu special, it was spectacular, my partner, the pork tenderloin steak in a... More

Visited Zermatt in September and toured the oldest areas of Zermatt during my stay. The structures date back to the 16th century and provide insight into the way the Swiss lived during that time.

Situated smack bang in the middle of Zermatt we walked past this area a couple of times each day and were always amazed at how these simple wooden houses have withstood the test of time. The solid wood beams have blackened and the houses are small and simp,e but they are still standing whee far newer structures have fallen apart.
