We loved the place. Everything we ate was wonderful. The staff was so friendly. The only thing is the service was a bit slow.
Stopped for a meal several times. Very good food, though not cheap, like everything in Zermatt :) Better to book a table in the morning for a fix time for a relaxing lunch, with Matterhorn view. Owners are friendly.
We stumbled onto this gem on the way down to the village on the last run. Intending only some hot beverages, we stayed 3 hours and skied out in the dark, warmed to the bone with tasty food. As an Alaskan, I can't recommend too highly a place where the owners have a remote Alaskan fishing lodge in summer and... More
On 19th August we had an great Barbecue at "Othmar's Hütte". On the amazing sun terrace we enjoyed a very tasty salmon toast to start. After we had a very impressive choice of different meats which was made on the grill in the middle of the terrace. We could eat as much as we can to a really very good... More
Tuesday night. Book your table. Rent your toboggan. Get the last Sunegga lift up at 5 - don't be late. Then toboggan down to Othmar's. Go for the fondue. It's a great evening. After dinner the toboggan back to town in the dark is magical. Great evening and well worth doing if you go to Zermatt in the winter.
On Tuesday evening this on mountain restaurant is open for dinner. Get a sled, ride the last funicular, toboggin for about 45 minutes down the trails to othmar's. Enjoy salmon specialties or fondue and other wonderful food. Hop back on your sled and go back to town. Perfect winter evening in the Alps!
We have stopped several times there during our skiholidays to enjoy the afternoon sun, a glas of wine and their Alaskan Salmon. The staff is very friendly. I recommend a glas of proseco and the salmon toast after a day on the skies.
