a little restaurant on the ski slopes where service & food were very very excellent. Take your time in this restaurant, drink a good glass of wine (or two!!) and enjoy the view on the Materrhorn. Don't think to take the slopes after!!!

We had not managed to reach this restaurant (also known as Franz and Heidi's) for lunch because of poor weather and access on our first day's skiing in Zermatt but were really pleased that we managed to save this until our last day. After several days of excellent cuisine on the mountain, this restaurant, probably stood out for its wonderful... More

The rindstartar was excellent; the price of 32 swiss franc in a mountain restaurant is outstanding! It really was worth every swiss franc. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was warm and in an authentic rustic style. Everybody in the service had a smile on their face and they made us feel welcome.

Excellent place to eat on the mountain - fabulous atmosphere and very welcoming and knowledgeable host. Two of our party enjoyed the reindeer fillet, once they got over the image of eating Rudolph! I had the lamb fillet which was also excellent. The wine list is the most extensive we saw during our time in Zermatt and the host made... More

We ate at Franz and Heidi's twice on our recent visit to Zermatt. Our friends had booked well in advance (10 months) as we were a party of 9 and it was the week of the New Year. Our first lunch was soutside in a covered terrace area with heathers and warm blankets - it was super and the food... More

Indisputably one of the best Zermatt mountain restaurants - booking well in advance strongly recommended - our party of 10 had New Year's lunch there and were superbly hosted by Franz and Heidi.

Definitely one of the best restaurants in Zermatt. The staff as well as the ambiente and the food are simply great. We are staying at Findlerhof at least once a year (and we will return next year, for sure)

This place is pretty difficult to get to in ski boots down a narrow icy path. Once there several small crowded rooms great you. We found ourselves plonked onto the end of someone else's table. Service was very fast and friendly and the food probably worth the effort. I must say it's definitely not the place for a romantic meal... More

We enjoyed another perfect meal at the Findlerhof. The service was top and the food perfect. As usual the restaurant was packed but as the ambience was super nice it just made the experience better. You need to taste the "three pasta" dish. Price value is excellent. Will be back!

Very good restaurant housed in a typical suisse hut. Very nice staff. Suisse traditional meal called rösti (sort of potato pancake). Homemade desserts - apricot cake was lovely.
