Time for specialeaties. Time for Tradition Julen. "Everyone is welcome in Restaurant Julen." That was as important for Meinrad Julen as it is today for the third generation of the family business. In the morning local workers stop by for their coffee break, at noon the traditional cuisine attracts businessmen, families and passers-by, and in the evening the cozy restaurant serves gourmet food based in traditional cuisine. New menus are created daily with love and passion. From the salad bar to beef tenderloin and lamb specialties to the hearty cheese fondue and dessert buffet on Thursdays, the a la carte menu has something for all tastes. Enjoy our carefully selected assortment of international wines. Make sure to reserve a table early!

A wonderful dinner for our final night in Zermatt

Delicious meals and wonderful cocktails! This was our second night in a row eating at Hotel Julen. The Restaurant Julen is a little more modern than the Scheferstube downstairs but equally as delicious. If you prefer a quiet dinner this is definitely the pick!

We had buffet salad which was good and the Zermatt Beef dish which was maybe 2 inches thick and 3 inches in diameter. The beef was 55 Euros each but good.

The food was excellent and presented in a very nice way. Only the freshest top quality ingredients used. Very good choice of meats and vegetables.

My husband and I couldn't believe the selection of food at Restaurant Julen - they have their own menu, the menu for Restaurant Schaeferstube available, and a prix fixe menu. We finally settled on a traditional fondue and 2 lamb dishes - so delicious! The service was typical for Europe - certainly not lightning fast, but attentive enough!

We went for the 5 course price fix menu and we were not disappointed. From the bread to the dessert, everything was fresh, authentic and delicious.

Unimaginative but reasonably well executed fare. Children's menu available. We only visited for lunch so cannot comments on the atmosphere in the evening.

Some excellent food and wine, with a local feel. All dishes were excellent and well appreciated by our party of 15. Service was prompt and friendly. Highly recommended.

Interesting & affordable daily menu (we had bison steak, nicely prepared) with a salad starter for 35chf - excellent price for Zermatt. However the cheapest wine was 8chf per dl (thats a tenth of a liter.

We had a great meal at this place. I wanted to find a place that had more than fondue, and this place delivers. I didn't know fondue was made of anything other than cheese or chocolate. I had the Fondue Chinoise, and really enjoyed it. At the end, the waitress was kind enough to show me what locals do with... More

The moment we entered the restaurant we were given first class treatment until we left, just fantastic service. Price is reasonable & discount given if you stay in either one of their three hotels. Food is really delicious. I have nothing negative to say.
