It is a great place for meat lovers. Best lamb I ever had in Zermatt. The dishes deliciously made with tasty flavor. I have been to this restaurant with my family and we all were satisfied of the food. The staff was friendly too. I would recommend it and if I will return again to Zermatt I would definitely go... I don't much care for lamb, but this has to be the best. The owner makes it a point to visit each table for comments and suggestions. Apparently, the mountain sheep, native to this region, are naturally lean and feed off the land - the result: meat that's leaner and tastier than beef without that "typical" (New Zealand lamb) smell.... This restaurant is very traditional. The staff were great and the food was superb! The portions were good decent sizes and had good flavours. I would recommend the fondues! If you vist Zermatt this is a great restaurant. I would recommend it.

Best lamb in years - perfect hospitality and even better service. Paul - owner wonderful. Recommended a local humagne - domaine des muses - a perfect dinner with great friends - after a perfect day on the mountain. Enjoy!

This restaurant was spectacular. We had the maison fondue (cheese) and the rack of lamb cooked medium well (good for 2 services). If youve never had lamb dont be afraid to taste it. It is a much leaner meat than any cut from a cow and they way they cook it here is exceptional. The meat comes from sheep located... More

I don't usually eat lamb, but being that Schaferstubli is known for it, I gave it a try. The food was fantastic and the decor was cute (with a definite lamb theme). We also tried the house fondue, which was good. Reservations are a must, this place is really popular!

This restaurant is in a converted sheep stall and is decorated in full alpine style appropriate to the region. The atmosphere is therefore perfect. I had a pea soup as a starter and grilled lamb as a main course and both were excellent. The staff were very friendly and service was good too. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to... The title says it all. Everyone else has previously commented on how good it is. If you like lamb definitely put this on top of your list. Service was great. Only negative - our clothes smelt like a BBQ when we got home.

Great food and wonderful Swiss atmosphere. We were probably one of the few who didn't order lamb but still had a fantastic meal. The owner came to our table to see how our dinner was. He was born and raised in Zermatt and actually grows his own sheep in Zermatt that he serves in the restaurant. Would recommend to anyone... More
