I was so glad that the hotel clerk recommended this restaurant. Ever thing in Switzerland is pricey so I wont hold this against them. Greeted by the warmth of a wood burning stove, we were escorted a lovely table where we were treated to an incredible meal We had the rack of lamb for two which was served in two... More

A small and cozy restaurant with an open fire pit area where the grilling is done and fun to watch. Our waiter recommended a Swiss Syrah at $80 which in fact was one of the least expensive wines on the menu and was quite good. My wife ordered the lamb cutlets while I ordered a Wiener Schnitzel. The waiter pushed... More

Our family of 5 went to Le Gitan Grill for our last dinner in Zermatt on the recommendation of our hotel. This was one of our favorite meals. We sat near the grill and we really enjoyed watching the preparation of the food. The waitstaff was very accommodating - offering seconds on side dishes. The lamb was fabulous, cooked perfectly,... The meat on the grill is outstanding. Specifically the brochette or the lamb. Also very difficult not to take seconds of their specialty potatoes. Very good selection of wines. Better suited for adults. Dimmed lighting. Excellent service.

We shared the lamb filets which were amazing flavorful and tender. The potatoes gratin was delicious and I appreciated the second helping. However, the 5 pieces of vegetables left a lot to be desired. This was a recommendation to celebrate our anniversary. The atmosphere was very quaint and cozy, the food delicious, but like Zermatt- very very expensive and the... More

My wife and I dined here whilst in Zermatt. I had fillet steak with potato gratin which was heavenly. I have never tasted gratin as nice as this. My wife had a fondue which had a beautiful flavour. More subtle than the french fondue which i find can be a little strong. Make sure you have a bottle of the... More

average cold meat starters, average steak tartar (served without toast), average grilled meat, average service... but prices much over what it should be, as usual in zermatt. no special reason to go again, no special reason to avoid this place.

Each time a wonderful experience, outstanding quality of meat and fish prepared on the wood-burning grill combined with the amazing gratin. Lamb Carré is amongst the best we ever had.

Nicely decorated restaurant and friendly welcoming and service. We had a fondue as a starter which tasted well. However we were slightly disappointed with our boeuf tartar. The meat was not chopped as you would expect at a restaurant of this caliber and tasted way too much ketchup. Perhaps the grilled meat is a better choice here.

Nice service, good food - I am not the biggest fan of fondue but it is great there, great warm atmosphere. I would say this is wonderful place for friends dinner!!!
