This place is fantastic. The food is some of the best I have eaten. The dining room and staff are stunning. We had an absolutely brilliant table directly opposite the open grill where everything is cooked. It was absolutely fascinating watching how they do it. If you are a two or three then I would thoroughly recommend asking for this... More

I think we were served by one of the owners, he was terrific with suggestions and very engaging. We ate out every night and this was the best meal we had. The open fire grilled meats were amazing. Both the Lamb and the steak scewers were wonderful. Great wine selection as well. We considered going back a second night because... More

If anyones looking at my reviews of Zermatt (and some other places) you may think everything gets 5 stars but its only because I sometimes forget the names of places that were average or not so good. We were recommended this restaurant by our hotel owners (who we saw at the restaurant on the night we dined there). Very cosy... More

The Italian restaurant here is really excellent in fact the best I have eaten at in many years. The ravioli wow, the skewer outstanding, service wonderful. Note it is closed on wed eve during the off season darn I would have eaten there again tonight.

We enjoyed a lovely dinner for four at Le Gitan as recommended by Michelle at Romantica. We'd been on the mountain hiking all day so the hearty fare from the grille was welcome. Nice wine selection and good service. The open fire made the room warm and added ambience. A great choice among a lot of competing options.

Based on the recommendation of our hotel my wife and i recently enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Le Gitan. We really appreciated the fact that they accommodated our request to move tables to a quieter section, complete with candlelight, even though we did not have reservations. The food was outstanding and service good. While they initially made a mistake with... More

Wonderful dining experience for my wife and I. Food, wonderful --- of course it was fondue. Staff friendly and patient offering advice on the type of fondue we would enjoy. Relaxed, no rush or push to get us in and out. Atmosphere relaxed, location was perfect, after diner an easy stroll thru the village. Le gitan is a must.

I was so glad that the hotel clerk recommended this restaurant. Ever thing in Switzerland is pricey so I wont hold this against them. Greeted by the warmth of a wood burning stove, we were escorted a lovely table where we were treated to an incredible meal We had the rack of lamb for two which was served in two... More

A small and cozy restaurant with an open fire pit area where the grilling is done and fun to watch. Our waiter recommended a Swiss Syrah at $80 which in fact was one of the least expensive wines on the menu and was quite good. My wife ordered the lamb cutlets while I ordered a Wiener Schnitzel. The waiter pushed... More

Our family of 5 went to Le Gitan Grill for our last dinner in Zermatt on the recommendation of our hotel. This was one of our favorite meals. We sat near the grill and we really enjoyed watching the preparation of the food. The waitstaff was very accommodating - offering seconds on side dishes. The lamb was fabulous, cooked perfectly,...
