Great service, even better food

The service level here was incredible from the time we entered until after we left. Attentive, friendly, but not obtrusive. The meals---veal cutlet cooked over open flames with potatoes au gratin served tableside and fresh veggies was perfect. The lamb fillets were likewise very good and nicely... read more

Bad wiaitress' service. Seem not welcoming Chinese and Hongkongese. Food quality is average and too salty. We will definitely not not come back again. If you are Chinese, it is not advised to go to this restaurant.

Maybe 60% full, 10 tables and one waitress who kept everyone waiting…she's working hard yet could see it like the Matterhorn that service was going to be off. The mushrooms salad tasty yet ordered the traditional fondue and after 3 separate try's she finally gets the gas lit. If not familiar with fondue, ignore this review. If, however, you know... More

Our family of 5 enjoyed our 20 year old girl's birthday here at Le Gitan. The ambiance is charming (open chimney grill near the entrance), and the food is delightfully flavorful. The au gratin potatoes are to die for--and they'll keep offering you more! Our best meal during our 3-day visit to Zermatt was at this fine restaurant. Don't miss... More

This is a fine dining place with plenty of fantastic menu options to try the ala-carte menu and specialties like Fondue, grilled meats and wine pairings etc. We stopped by here specifically to get some hot soup in a cold summer Zermatt afternoon when the temperature plunged to 0 C with clouds and rain. We were really delighted with their... More

Really enjoyed this restaurant, friendly service and everything we had was excellent. Awesome potato leek soup and good wine selection. Went back a second time, locals eat and drink here.

When in Switzerland, one has to have fondue! Recommended by our hotel, we spent a wonderful evening at The Gitan. Delicious fondue and amazing service- a single serving is enough for two!

On our honeymoon and so far in 5 days between Zermatt and Gstaad this place has had the best meal. Try the lamb and also the beef skewers. Limited choices on single malts but great dining.

We came to this restaurant from a recommendation from our hotel. It did not disappoint. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was warm and cozy. They were very accommodating to our 9 year old. The potatoes au gratin were unbelievably good!!! Service was friendly and restaurant was clean. It is a great find with a good wine list too!!

Came to Le Gitan on the recommendation of our concierge and had the best meal we've had in Switzerland! Fantastic food, lovely owners serving and they even offered off-menu options for our six-year-old. Wish we were here another night just so we could dine here again tomorrow!
