Easy place to relax after a day on the slopes, cheap bar food (by Zermatt standards) and efficient staff with a huge selection of drinks and good local beer on tap.

It was excellent. Typical Swiss bar - get a table in the back and enjoy any of the specialties they offer.
A busy pub with a great atmoshphere. If you are seeking somewhere fairly reasonable to eat and like burgers then you will not be disappointed. One evening we were very late after an extended apres ski session and we needed somewhere to eat, the brown cow was still serving meals and we all enjoyed their delicious burgers. Great beer too!
having read another review of this pub we visited for lunch today when we went to zermatt. The menu was varied and well priced eg. 16 SF for a chicken burger and chips, the burger was well presented, the chicken moist with a nice salad and dipping sauces for the chips. The hot gluwein hit the spot when it was...

We really loved the Brown Cow Bar. There are about 4 bars within the Post hotel where you will find the Brown cow at the base. We loved the upstairs bar with outside seating as well. If you are looking for a real apres ski experience you will find it on the mountain near the base as you ski down....

Friendly, cozy, local feel. Food is very tasty and the prices are quite good. Drinks cost the same as anywhere else. My favourite place for a gluewein or rum and hot chocolate after a long day on the slopes!
This place is great, right in the narrow main street, it has a hotel above, which looks very nice, but the bar area is where it all happens, lots of good beers, and the menu is awesome, from the Fiery hot Matterhorn Burger, to Steaks, Club Sandwiches and the very nice Stinky Burger, made with a smelly local cheese! A...

This was a great place to grab a nightcap. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere. I even spilt my beer and the bartender quietly replaced it or me. Nice touch! I will go back every time I am in Zermatt.
The restaurant is located in Zermatt City. Though it is a bar, kids are allowed for lunch. Its a small compact area, where you sit on first come first serve basis. Huge TV's showing the local skiing competition. The service is friendly. The order was for a Minestrone soup, Chicken Wings, and Zerwmatt Burger to wash it up with beer....
