Great meal and family friendly

Our hotel recommended Spycher for a good reason. The food was fantastic as was the service. We split the Beef/Venison flambé for 2 which was perfectly prepared but honesty WAY too much food. The second course was a repeat of the perfectly done first course. Our picky 12 year old opted for the... read more

Love the cozy atmosphere. Staff was excellent and efficient. Our venison for two was delicious and VERY plentiful, which was great after a long day on the slopes.

Everyhing was great about this restaurant! Food was excellent - decor nice and cozy. Crayons for the small kids and gummy bears in the pasta!! The staff was great and came around to talk to all the guests. It felt like being at someones traditional home. Recommend to book as it is very popular. Will for sure visit again!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. Chateaubriand flambé, nice appetizers, wine and beer. Meat was cooked to our taste and was carved and presented to us at our table; be prepared ... as there was enough for two plates each. Crepes for dessert. Very good! Traditional atmosphere with local, fresh foods. Nice staff, including the owner who also manages the hotel,... More

A good variety in menu from starters to desserts, including variety of vegetarian options. We took beef stake flambes, got nicely prepared (flambe by the table, cool) medium ones, tasty and easy to eat. Wine list was rich with best Swiss red wines, definitively one of the best selection I have seen in this country. You better make reservation for... More

Having just arrived in Zermatt, we tried the Spycher based on a recommendations. The food, especially the meats (venison, chateaubriand), were of high standard, but as most of the main courses cost above 50€, you kind of expect more. Fine wine list.

Given prices and reviews, I had high expectations which were not met. Service is excellent, food is ok, not bad.

Outstanding food and service in a great atmosphere. For those traveling from the states I think this gives a great opportunity to experience Swiss dining that is upscale and current but in a more traditional environment. Went back two more times (once just for the chocolate fondue desert.)

This is a very typical "stube", quaintly decorated and yet some of the best meats we've had (I say that because in many places now the "alpen style" decorations have undermined the quality of food). We choose their specialty chateaubriand which is served flambee at the table. Portions are large as someone else mentioned, in fact once you finish the... More

Don't miss this one. Relaxed elegance in a lovely Alpine setting. We had deer steak and lamb cutlets, both of which were excellently prepared exactly to our liking with really generous portions not often seen in European restaurants. The flambé escargot starter was tasty and unique. The service was attentive, but not intrusive. If you come to Zermatt, definitely try... More
