This an old bar in Zermatt that you must visit. Staff is accommodating, and nice to sit and share a table. We met so many people from around the world by sharing tables. Good drinks, laughs, nibbles, etc. You have to go.

Elsie's bar is basically the Zermatt equivalent of Harry's bar in Venice - it's a landmark and well worth a visit. Inside, the ambience is a cross between London gastro-pub and an alpine bar, all wood panelling and paintings. Always rammed and famous for oysters, escargots and of course champagne, we ended up going every other day of our stay.

When we arrived in Zermatt we stopped here for a beer. Inside was small and welcoming and staff was friendly. We sat outside on their small porch that had seating with cushions and blankets to keep you warm. Perfect! The church is right across the seat and we had front row seats to a musical performance, and had fun watching... More

Fantastic intimate restaurant serving only the finest and freshest of culinary delights. Their truffle pasta and their oysters are superb dishes which are always fondly remembered when we talk of Zermatt. The place has retained its original charm and although tight is always homely. The service is great and we've thoroughly enjoyed our meals here which invariably end up longer... More

Partner and I dropped in for a drink sans enfants and were offered two stools at the bar. The friendly manager recommended a local white wine. Buzzy upmarket place. I'd expect the food to be good, will reserve and eat next time in Zermatt.

Stayed in a chalet next door and popped in to see what this bar was like. It was really nice and the staff were friendly. The little outside area was cosy too.

We came to this restaurant on the recommendation that it was a pretty high end place. They weren't wrong! as other reviews have stated this is a pretty small place with an upstairs/downstairs kind of vibe. Downstairs is busy with a small bar and tables to seat maybe 20-ish people.. It seems very much the Après side of the place... More
