Sushi was quite mediocre, it tasted like the one you buy at supermarket. At home in Toronto I would rate this sushi place as 2 stars, for Zermatt I am rating it 3 stars considering that getting fresh fish there must be a challenge.

Many "Japanese" restaurants serve long grain rice- which for me IS NOT Japanese. This restaurant has good rice AND good Japanese flavors. Not the overly sweet, bottled sauces. I had the tuna and it was perfectly cooked ( which means half raw) and presented. The couple at the next table had chirashi and it looked perfect!

The staff and chef made our meal very special. The attention to detail is phenomenal. The food looks and tastes great. Presentation is everything. Definitely try this restaurant.

Simply the best Japanese restaurant I went to since... a trip to Japan three years ago. Try the chicken teriyaki and enjoy.

During a weekend stay we went twice to eat the Teppanyaki Menue Myoko. Most of the the guests in Myoko are Japanese. Our Cook was Nasa. He is very friendly and does a great cooking show, juggling with his cooking stuff, to flambe the meat or prawns - he turns the light so you get an better light show. At... More

Go if you have a craving for Japanese food but don't expect anything spectacular except crazy high prices. State clearly if you want to sit by the grill or just have sushi so you don't get seated at the grill table when you do not want to, like we did. It was very noisy and smoke filled upstairs, I do... Not what you would perhaps go to Switzerland for, but if you fancy a change from fondue then this is a must visit - the teppanyaki is delicious

Being in Zermatt, we always very much enjoy the stay in the Tappari-Yaki-Restaurant. The food is excellent, the service perfect and to observe the cook and the other guests is great. A early reservation is strongly recommended. We'll come again, thanks.

Having read the many negative Tripadvisor review for Myoko AFTER making a reservation I took my wife there last night with a lot of trepidation. And, as it turned out, without good reason. The reception was warm, polite and efficient. The environment downstairs comfortable and cosy. There was no pushing of chef's suggestions. And we rapidly had two warm sakés... More

Ate here 3 times over 3 years. First experience was not special, but ok. Second year was a miss, but we gave it a another chance one year later, probably because we just really like sushi. Each time, the sashimi was not particularly fresh, and the rest of the food was forgettable. Portion sizes for what you pay are insultingly... More
