As a family we were travelling to Italy and stopped in Lugano on the way for a few nights. We wanted to eat in a Grotto to get a local flavour of the area and went here after looking at TA. We, sorry I went unprepared without a phrase book (Italian) and struggled with the menu but the people here... More

had one of my best lunches at Grotto Pierino!!! Great homemade dishes...the polenta and brasato as my Mum use to cook! Great dessert and wine! The place is fantastic and great atmosphere!

ok...the offer is quite limited in terms of meals but you don't care! You don't care first because you understand very quickly that this familiar restaurant serves their home-made sauvages and cold meat and it is very very good but also because the place and the staff are soooo nice! Playground for the childrens front to the restaurant I recommand... More

I just enjoyed drinking a glas of red wine with polenta and brasato on the terrace. Grotto Pierino offers a limited but excellent choice of local food with wine in a quiet location with a beeautifull view on Lugano from the terrace (Cureggia is not far from the top of Monte Bre). The owner is there since years and knows... More

We didn't actually eat here. We only had ice cream, coffee and torta di pane. The location is very nice und if you walk to the small church you have a wonderful view of Lugano and the lake.

One of a few grottos in Lugano that actually is a grotto, not just the name. Authentic environment, very few dishes, cooked on the day, all excellent like home made and very generous portions. We had minestrone and polenta with rabbit and ossobuco, and at the end were served a typical torta di pane. All at a very good price,... More
