A good restaurant for a quick (but relaxed) lunch

We visited this restaurant while it was raining cats and dogs and we wanted to have a quick lunch while waiting for the return of good weather. We could not sit in the outdoor patio, which looked very pleasant, because of the rain, but we were not disappointed by the indoor ambience. We were served... read more

This place is a bit hidden, though in the centre, therefore a visit is definitely recommended! The restaurant offers italian cuisine. I had a starter made up of vegetables and a very very small "buffalo" mozzarella, which I can confirm, it did not taste as the real buffalo mozzarella in the south of Italy. A first course made of Pasta... More

Cyrano is located a bit away from the busy waterfront area. The menu was entirely in Italian, which suggested to us a more authentic experience than the touristy restaurants on the main piazza flashing its menus in four languages. We arrived at around 2045 and were seated without a reservation. The dining room was split in two parts, a front... More

Don't be put off by the unadorned facade. We were greeted and served by Maria. Then treated to the delicious spadellata e sale Nero vulcanico which she described as 'salad of the sea'. Followed by a creamy smooth risotto which you don't have to order for 2 people. The dishes are delicious and plentiful. We always get one dish from... More

I'm pretty surprised to see such stellar reviews for this restaurant because it was nothing amazing. Place was nearly empty but waitress was rude and looked like she just wanted to go home. Portions are tiny and prices are well above local standard. To summarize Cyrano is very poor value for money and it is strongly suggested to hit another... More

We had a very relaxing lunch at Cyrano. It was a pleasant respite: it was relatively quiet, so conversation was easy, and tables were spaced such that diners would not intrude on conversations of neighboring tables. The ambience was upscale, so prices were a bit high by American standards, but they were not high for this quality of restaurant in... More

ive been twice now and made a reservation conveniently online (mytable.ch) but don't think i would've needed it since it was empty both times. i have no idea why, given that the food is the best ive gotten in lugano. the service is wonderful, location very quiet and cute, and the food is fresh, delicious, just everything wonderful. ill be... We went to Cyrano on our second day in Lugano in late June 2012, which is unfortunate because if we went the first day we would have had dinner there four times instead of three. Yes, it was that good. The owner's are very hands on and want you to have a good experience. To the owner/chef's great amusement, my... More

This restaurant is completely worth its reputation! In this well hidden restaurant in the city center you will have the chance of having a great meal at reasonable price and all that comes with an excellent service. It was honestly delicious. The first thing you notice entering the main room of the restaurant is the wine-wall. The owners are fine... More

Been going for years at the Ristorante Cyrano. Small hidden gem next to the Hotel Pestalozzi. Many friends go there too but not everybody knows they have a truly quaint terrace to enjoy a meal during Spring/Summer. Great service, great food.
