This place isn't cheap for lunch....but it wasn't until after we were seated and watch some locals that we realised that we might have been able to order the deli food to eat there. Instead we ordered of the limited, expensive but very nice menu. The food was outstanding and the place is very "happening". 95CHF for lunch for three... More

We were staying at Lenno on Lake Como and took at day out in Legano. We had yet to find a deli that did a true Italian sandwich so we were really pleased to come across this promising place. It had excellent Italian produce with a range of different types of breads and fillings yet still no pesto fillings. We... More

Yes, Lugano is overpriced. But Ligano has also not much to offer in terms of good food and good service, I think. This place, instead, does offer good food and good service. Still a bit overprices, but what can you do? This is what the city is! At least in this case you pay for something! The place is very... More

Incredibly delicious street-side 'take away' food. We were amazed at the freshness and the extremely large sandwiches and pizza that were displayed. We could not resist and were not sorry, in fact, my mouth is watering now just thinking about what we had to eat the day we visited Lugano. A 'don't miss' for sure!

Lunch had finished and we were invited to have antipasto. We were given a plate of sliced cured meat with some olives on it and a wooden tray with perhaps 8 small pieces of cheese, accompanied by slices of stale baguette. This came to a total of €38. Terrible value.

We stayed at the Dante Lugano Hotel, which was right next door to Gabbani. We kept walking by it and stopped by to have the pizza twice (AMAZING) and once we walked by and they were serving to-go containers of white truffle risotto! In the street! White truffle risotto! We had literally just eaten or we would have bought some.... More

The aubergines parmiggiano is excellent, as was everything else we took for dinner at the appt we rented for a week. Great service, varied fresh dishes each day, not to be missed! As soon as we came back our biggest regret was not having taken more food back with us!

Stayed in Lugano for a summer... Always managed to swing by for aperitivo on a Wednesday. The sangria was good and well priced. Lots of options, but crowded. You have to push and shove to get some food but the atmosphere is really fun especially when it spills into the street and it's nice outside!
