Had the parmesan risotto with veal and asparragus. It was very good! My husband had a great cut of meat cooked perfectly and they also have a great wine selection. Enjoyed the place and athmosphere

We discovered the restaurant thanks to the reviews on Trip Advisor. My mom and I went there for lunch, it was towards the end of the lunch hour; therefore, the restaurant was not very crowded and must say very peaceful. My mom had an excellent penne with artichoke and shrimp and I had a house wine served in their signature... More

.. Real Grotto is here, Gorini .. If you are the one who are looking for your meal in Swiss-Italian restaurant in Lugano, I would give some advice to you. Tinera restaurant is one of few original grotto Italian cuisine restaurants which admires your visit to Tessin. In this restaurant could maximize their capacity to over than 50 seats. The... More

Lovely atmosphere and very little tourist. We go there very often and the quality of the "piatto del giorno" never disappoints you

We went there pretty early for dinner as my toddler typically eats dinner around 6PM. We were pleased with the fact that we were able to get a table without reservation and that the waiters were courteous. Great atmosphere and they had a comfortable and unique toddler's seat for our child. Appetizers and desserts were winning all the way. For... More

We just ate here and believe me, if you know and love Italian food then you will not be disappointed when you come here. My husband and I shared a cold meat selection with a salad and complimentary pickled vegetables. He had cotechino (Italian sausage) with lentils and potatoes, I had risotto con porcini mushrooms and we washed it down... More

This place is the only "grotto" in the town of Lugano. Grottos are usually in the country and have country food, locally prepared and sometimes even grown. It is a Ticino characteristic. La Tinera is billed as such a grotto. A characteristic is that wine is served in little cups rather than glasses. The food is very good and plain.... More

La Tinera is a bit off the beaten track in downtown Lugano. It is located in what I would refer to as a basement. The food is well prepared and the service is very efficient. The afternoon we were there it was crowded with business people, but were were taken care of promptly. We especially enjoy the pasta and the... More

We had a great experience at la tinera, hidden around a corner, the food was very tasty and hearty lending to a home-cooked feel. The restaurant is small, but warm. However, we felt that the waiters treated us as an obligation as they became annoyed when we asked questions about the menu, and the one even walked away while we... More
