Swiss food in a small cellar restaurant

Swiss food with some Italian inspiration. Served in a cosy cellar in the restaurant, which is located in the middle of Lugano. We had Costoletta (pork cutlets on the bone) with cooked vegetables on the side - and also a portion of fried potatoes. The vegetables was a "ratatouille" - mainly... read more

We found this place by chance and we loved it. The place is small and we realized that many visitors had made a previous reservation but we were lucky to have a small table where we enjoyed a great Ticcino meal. Would definitively go back.

A little hidden away you find this restaurant serving local food. I had a cutlet, wich was okay. Vegetables totaly boiled out, and not tasting fresh. Icecream okay. Service okay. But at the end I would say, that it was a little disapointing and nothing but average.

Good food but for lunch this is definitely on the pricy side - 24 francs for a polenta special. Lovely staff and cozy decorations.

Well worth a visit for a very pleasant lunch experience (we were on a day-out in Lugano with no reservation made in advance). Arrival is suggested at around 12 o'clock to ensure a decent table as things get very busy with local business people who seem to know a good thing! Choose from a reasonably priced à la carte menu... Had a nice lunch here on a day trip from Lake Como. A bit hard to find but worth it for the cozy cellar atmosphere, attentive service and good food. We both enjoyed our meal, I thought that the mushroom risotto was particularly good, creamy and delicious. Portions were generous and the prices fair.

We were a couple, sited next to a table with two parties. No much privacy in such a situation. The service was slow. one dish, the risotto, didn't arrive withe the main course and we had to mention it to the waiter. which forgot it. The place is crowded and noisy. It is really a tiny basement which doesn't provide... More

We had a thoroughly enjoyable, traditional Ticanese meal of polenta with mushrooms, with a glass of the local Merlot. Everything was just right: the food, the service, the decor and overall atmosphere. Highly recommended!

Our party of 4 adults had mixed feelings about our recent dinner at La Tinera. FOOD Risotto was ok - generous portion but not a lot of taste. Fried fish dish was very good - crunchy, light, hint of seasoning. The daily special of mixed boiled meats was bland - and my wife was not sure what she was eating.... More

The risotto with porcini mushrooms was spectacular! We enjoyed this Ticino restaurant that is well known to the locals. The service was very good and friendly. Our server encouraged us to try the wine in the traditional ceramic bowls. We were glad that we did! We liked the atmosphere in this cellar restaurant.
