Authentic Swiss food

Having been to lugano several times this is the only swiss restaurant I found. As its closer to the Italian border its mainly Italian speaking town with majority of the restaurants are Italian. I would recommend this place as it has rustic swiss feel to it. and has few dishes that are... read more

We came to,Lugano for an evening, staying in lago maggiore. We found this place through trip advisor. Based in a cellar, so bit hard to find, but worth it. We enjoyed the food, starters very good with tasty ravioli. The ossobuko with risotto was simply delicious, chicken with rice and roast beef all excellent. Deserts wonderful. Lovely staff, very accommodating... More

A little hard to find but was worth it. I had the County Chicken and it was fabulous. Great service. So much better than food the tourist traps in the piazzas. Ate at Argentino the night before and this was so much better.

After experiencing intense "sticker shock" our first day out in Switzerland, La Tinera was the antidote! Nearly every menu we looked at was 20 SF for the salad or appetizer, same for a first course and 34 and up for the entree. But in this cozy basement ristorante, the two of us ate for 105.50 SF, including a pleasing bottle... More

We went here for lunch. Nice atmosphere with mostly locals. Service was good. Husband had rabbit special which was quite good. I had a pasta with asparagus and tiny shrimp. It was also quite tasty. The house wine was a bit on the rough side. We also ordered a side salad for 8.50 which was disappointing for the price as... More

Loved the authentic feel of this restaurant in an old wine cellar. The menu specialises in dishes from Ticino. The ravioli with asparagus was silky and delicious. The wait staff were welcoming and helpful.

Located in a cellar in the pedestrian area of "old" downtown Lugano, it serves typical local food. I was Invited for dinner by an italian friend who lives in Lugano and knows this restaurant well. The restaurant was not busy. We had a good meal- I started with the Pasta of the day- home made ravioli with asparagus which were... More

We found this place by chance and we loved it. The place is small and we realized that many visitors had made a previous reservation but we were lucky to have a small table where we enjoyed a great Ticcino meal. Would definitively go back.

A little hidden away you find this restaurant serving local food. I had a cutlet, wich was okay. Vegetables totaly boiled out, and not tasting fresh. Icecream okay. Service okay. But at the end I would say, that it was a little disapointing and nothing but average.

Swiss food with some Italian inspiration. Served in a cosy cellar in the restaurant, which is located in the middle of Lugano. We had Costoletta (pork cutlets on the bone) with cooked vegetables on the side - and also a portion of fried potatoes. The vegetables was a "ratatouille" - mainly consisting of peppers (red, green and yellow). We found... More
