Following a friend's recommendation, we had lunch in this restaurant's garden (well-protected by enormous parasols). The waiter was extremely attentive and helped us to make a very good choice for a local wine. We started with a mushroom risotto that was simply delicious, followed by a veal cutlet with vegetables and baby roasted potatoes, which was average. We finished with... More

A nice restaurant just outside the city center of Lugano. Their speciality is grilled meat, worth a visit, especially in the summertime when you can sit outside. Very good wine cellar.

The food here is really excellent, especially the grilled stuff. We had horse steal, the best we have had. A bit pricey but worth it. The place is full of paintings by Botteri! We asked and the owner said he just liked Bottero!

We reserved at the Grotto Grillo for our anniversary dinner. Overall experience was good. The waiters were friendly and helpful. As a starter we had the Caprese salad and an onion soup which were delicious. As as an entrée I had the rib-eye which was mouth-watering good! My husband had the chili-beef which was just so-so and it was a... More

I go to this Grotto not that often but every time I am satisfied: the seasonal dishes are perfectly combined with wines, and the portions are decent...maybe not for someone that likes to eat until is completely full, and is used to "à volonté" restaurants. I liked especially the first courses (mainly pasta) and few meat dishes. I never tried... More

Lugano is a fairly overpriced city (especially food wise), so I strive to get the best for my money. Somebody suggested this restaurant to me, and we went to give it a try. First of all, most likely you will need a GPS to find it, it is kind of hidden. Once you find it, go in, you will not... More

Great restaurant, great food, great staff and great costumers. The only thing I don't like is that I'm getting addicted. They have incredible pastas and delicious fish. I certainly recommend it to anybody who likes quality restaurants.

I have visited several times this cozy and warm restaurant (they call if Grotto but it's really a nice restaurant). Excellent food and very good wine (the wine is a bit overpriced though). Excellent staff and a good atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit when in Lugano.
