I have been eating at Cittadella for many years, and have always been very happy. We ate at the Cittadella several times during the Festival and the food was always inventive, interesting and utterly delicious! I particularly recommend the "Spaghetti Scoglio" - the sepia, octopus and the gamberoni were cooked to perfection! The service was attentive and friendly.

We always go there if we want to have a very good cooked fish or seafood dish. Dishes are simple, not fancy at all but what counts is the fish which is perfectly cooked or grilled. There are two floors inside the building, upper floor is more "haute cuisine" and the waiters are different (some may say they are a... More

Absolutely packed full of diners, so we presumed it must be good. The atmosphere was great, the service quick and attentive, the seafood superb, but the pasta dishes were very disappointing. Small and tasteless. If you go here don't be tempted to try anything but the seafood, you won't be disappointed with that.

I love this place! My experience of this restaurant over the last 8 years, visiting approximately once per month throughout the year, is the opposite of the last 3 reviews! We mostly eat lunch here, the daily lunch menu is excellent value for money. Approx' 22CHF for 2 courses containing fish/seafood, almost unheard of in Switzerland. The pizzas are also... More

On our day trip to Locarno we hapened to walk past this place at lunchtime. We studied the menu and deemed that it had a good selection of food, including a childrens' option for our 2 year old and pizzas. We noticed that they had a pleasant courtyard area across the road from the main restaurant and decided to go... More

The restaurant was recommended by guidebooks and the hotel (who had never eaten there). The restaurant has two parts: one across the street from the other. The casual serves all foods including pizza. The more formal is a garden setting and restricts itself to seafood and pasta dishes. Our grandchildren ordered pizza (good) and plain pasta (good). We three ordered... More

This has never happened to me before.... I am regular guest in Locarno and almost every time Cittadella was one of the places to have a dinner. Being a simpler Pizza-Pasta place in the ground floor and a good seafood restaurant in the first. It is about a couple of years ago when i started to feel something is wrong... More

We were lucky to get a table in the restaurant without any reservation. The food was delicious (Duck foie gras as an appetizer from the house and see food pasta). Excellent atmosphere and friendly staff.

Recommended to me by a local and packed on a Friday night. I think we were very lucky to find a table available for the two of us in the ground floor trattoria, but it is the end of the season in Ticino. Service was very smart and extremely efficient, perhaps almost pushy for the European standard, though I was... More
