White I agree decor may be more appealing to older visitors, the rhubarb pie on an almond crust was the best I have ever had.

Enter slowly and watch the delicious cakes behind the windows before sitting in this once elegant and now old fashioned place. Brunch was excellent, almost better than at home and service very nice. Even my dog had a drink.

We took the Bernina Express day trip to St Moritz from Milan. The tour guide recommended Hanselmann as the oldest cafe in St Moritz with an excellent view. As it turned out, the one with the view was under renovation so we ended up at a more casual looking branch somewhere closer to the center. We ordered at the counter... More

Very cold welcome. The atmosphere may be suitable for boring retired couples...some old cakes lie on a central table and are not really appealing. We ordered a carot soup that was served almost cold. We were under the impression that the waitress was quite offended that we did not accept it as is.... In addition prices are at the high... More

We used to go frequently to San Moritz,so after more than 15 years we decided to go back for a cup of afternoon tea . The caffè is as nice as I remember it, and the waitress served us efficiently. When leaving I decided to buy a Nut Cake at the counter as a souvenir, but the young girl was... More

In the atmosphere of the book of Rosetta Loy "The Chocolate from Hanselmann" you will have one of the best hot chocolate in the world. Do not forget the "Nusse Torte" (Nuts pie) from the engadf\ine vally. Historically the pastry chefs from the Habsburg court were from this valley. You will understand why now!

Expresso and ristretto were total disappointments. 3 small chocolates to accompany expresso and ristretto was average for Swiss quality. One of the specialities of the Engadine region is a nut shortbread-like pie called gateau de noix (in french) and this one from Hanselmann is just a bit above average in taste and quality. They were renovating the location in the... More

The choclatiest cakes served with hot chocolate are the perfect way to thaw after a day's skiing. Hanselmann has been a St Moritz institution for generations, deservedly so.

it is quite old fashioned, but simply THE place to go for a coffee and croissant in the morning, a simple lunch at noon or a tea with cake or the famous and yummee Silserbretzel - before baking it is dipped into a saline solution - and before serving sliced in half and filled with butter - I guess pretty... Whether you come for breakfast or a mid-afternoon snack, Hanselmann's gives you a great snack with a view. The pastries are fine and service is seamless. Ignore the crinkles and bumps in the room and focus on the views from the terrace room. Sooner or later they'll chose to renovate. One minor irritation is that you cannot order pastries from... More
