A perfect rest stop

You can reach Carmennahutte on the way down from the Hornli on skis or walk up from the town. Either way you will get a friendly welcome and some solid or liquid carbs to recharge your tired body. They always did apfelkuche with cream, but not when I visited yesterday, but the nussgipfel, or nut... read more

Carmennahutte Arosa review: The inviting restaurant looked OK, but had stinky toilets,  NO open WiFi, horrible music broadcasted via WiFi, overcharged the food 4 fold, chocolate milk's cream was fake, ugly helmet hooks... No go! Never again for us...

Fantastic setting at 7000 ft. on a sunny mountain slope above Arosa, a small Alpine village south of Zurich. You can ski down there, or take a walk from the middle station of the Weisshorn gondola enjoying the panoramic view of the stunning winter landscape. Simple and tasty local food, friendly staff, and good choice of drinks to keep you... More

We went to Carmennahutte for drinks and lunch after a morning pounding the slopes. The sun was shining and we hired two of the 'beds' (2 CH each) to lounge on. The views were spectacular, the drinks were great (a speciality being the Munggapfupf, a warming nut-based shot topped with fluffy cream) the atmosphere relaxed but vibey. The food -... More

A great cafe/restaurant right in the middle of the Arosa ski resort, with fantastic views, a great atmosphere and wonderful food, especially the rosti, pizzas and apple/apricot cake! Located at the bottom of a fantastic sweeping approach run which, as I found out when I first went at the age of 9, can be a bit tricky for inexperienced skiers.... More

This is a mountain restaurant in Arosa that we stopped at for lunch on Saturday. At 2,134 meters (over 7000 feet) above sea level, it's quite impressive to stop by for some grub right along the Plattenhornpiste (one of the ski runs). I prided myself on being able to snowboard slightly down a red run just to reach this place... More
