Huge selection. Local specialities, with friendly and rapid service. Off the beaten track but worth it.

I highly recommend this restaurant in Interlaken; we had 2 fondues that were absolutely delicious, the service was very quick and kind, and inside looks perfect for a romantic winter meal.

When we came into restaurant we were escorted to tourist section by a blond older women. Were told other section was bar only...2 people were eating there. The 4 of us wanted bratwursts. Menu is big. When we asked where bratwurst was she said "in menu". She was curt when ordering and delivering food. We got a business card at... More

Geoff and Tristin booked me as their photographer in Interlaken during their Easter visit to Europe. (They are from Florida) We ended up in Laterne after an afternoon's photoshoot in the Swiss Alps. The bride and groom wanted a typical Swiss meal and got it and enjoyed it! The perfect end to a perfect day.

We were a group of six persons (some of us Swiss) going for dinner. While checking out the menu the waitress (blond lady) wanted to take note and we kindly asked her to give us a couple of minutes more. When she came back for the second time she said either we order now or we can leave. We didn't... More

We had a wonderful Sunday lunch here in January 2014 at the recommendation of the owner of our B&B Chalet Gafri. It is within walking distance of both the main street of Interlaken, and the Ost train station. The interior is typical Swiss and a great opportunity for those who want experience an authentic local restaurant that is beautifully decorated... More

The place is nice and cosy, the food is good, but the service is not that friendly. The menu should say that you are not allowed to order one meat fondue, but it doesn't and make you feel disappointed when you figure that out.

We were travelling around Switzerland by train and ended up with a night in Interlaken before heading to the Jungfrau the next morning. Having been in Switzerland for four days without a fondue we decided it was time to rectify that. A quick look through the Interlaken guide in the hotel room, a check on TripAdvisor and we were booking... More

I spend 360 days a year for the past 20 years eating daily in restaurant, in my life i have never had such a horrible service experience, our table was served by an older woman who acted more like a witch than a waiter, her service was horrible, arrogant, unpleasant, un frienfly, i dont even want to waste the time... Laterne was a great, casual place for fondue! Much better than the tourist-y places down in town. It was recommended by a friend and we loved it. You can expect to pay $15-25 a person, which is true to the typical expense of the Interlaken area. We LOVED the fondue, we got two pots to split between 2 people and... More
