Was looking for something non-touristy in Interlaken and tried this restaurant according to TripAdvisor reviews. It was obvious that everyone in there was local, knew the waitress or other patrons in the room, and we were the only tourists. After seeing this on TripAdvisor we decided to check it out. Overall very impressed with the meal and the service. It was a little on the expensive side but so is all of Switzerland. After we were done our waitress even called a cab for us, once she figured out our very poor german. Highly recommend going here.

Interlaken is woefully lacking in decent 'Swiss' restaurants. If you want a chinese or Indian, you've come to the right place. Needless to say, we came to Switzerland and wanted Swiss food. nice spot but nothing special, food was pretty good but would not go back. Not sure why all the good reviews, maybe because there are not a lot of great places to eat, but certainly not impressive by any streatch of the imagination.

We wanted some good traditional swiss food off the beaten path and the Laterne was perfect. They had a much bigger menu than we anticipated. My girlfriends and I ate here in 2010 at the suggestion of a local woman in Interlaken. It was around the holidays and the atmosphere was so picturesque and beautiful. The service was ok, but the fondue was amazing. It was a fun evening!
