Description: Guterhof was build in1787 as warehouse for the goods being transported down the Rhine. After a long period of it being unused, the historical building was brought to life. A generous gastronomic concept with cafe, restaurant, cocktail bar &Lounge, Sushi and banquet hall was opened in June 2008. At night Guterhof transforms to a lively party and event location. For connoisseurs of authentic sushi, the visit to Guterhof is a must. Every Tuesday evening we offer sushi a discretion. For lunch we serve a daily (monday to friday) changing 2 course menu for CHF 22 in addition to a choice of a la Carte dishes and Guterhof specials as fish chnusperlis or mixed salads. Guterhof as multicultural meeting point has a fine dining restaurant. The guests can overlook the cooks while preparing the regional and international dishes. Menu and wine cards are available also in English.

Went here for a business dinner and sat on patio on a great night on the river. Atmosphere is top-notch, no question--light, airy, on river, very pleasant. But for the price, the food is very marginal. The sushi was warm and did not look fresh, and was expensive. One selection was "flamed" meaning it was covered with a white cheese... More

Excellent quality restaurant almost alongside Rhein at edge of Schaffhausen; handsome old traditional building for indoor seating; great outdoor seating with view of Rhein and part of the altstadt; plenty of people eating and drinking makes this a fun evening spot; not cheap (as is most of Switzerland these days).

This is a very fun place, and a highly recommended place to hang out in Schaffhausen. My wife and I lived in Schaffhausen for two years, and this is the place we went to most often. Great bar for meeting old friends and new people. Service can range from fantastic to non-existent -- it depends on the night and on... More

In the warmer months, you can sit out on the terrace overlooking the Rhein and enjoy a Mövenpick ice cream while you're at it! In Jan and Feb, they decorate the restaurant in a wooden shalet-style, serving excellent fondue of all kinds. At weekends, it's the liveliest bar-club. Bar serves ALL kinds, including Patrón tequila, which isn't readily available in... More

I must say I really love this place, the food is great and the prices are acceptable and most of the time the waiters and waitresses are very attentive. They serve anything from Edamame and Sushi to fried scallops. The atmosphere is great as the building is very old and very big with chandeliers. There is also a big bar... More

First time in Schaffhausen, went there last night for the Swiss cheese fondue dinner. The "classic" fondue was very good and the herb / mushroom was ok. Overall the service and food was good

We only stopped here for a few Falcon beers on this visit, but my friend has eaten here too and reports the snacks are good! Service was pleasant and the added bonus of practically the only wifi in town - so i could use my phone to access the outside world! Lovely view of the riverside - or there will... More

I've eaten here a number of times this is the first time I have felt compelled to write a review on here. On prior occasions to this evening the food has been good and the portion sizes are generous - I can particularly recommend the Sushi which is both fresh and plentiful. This visit was marred from the start by... More

Guterhof is a stylish place, from the waiting area to the presentation of the food. The building has the right mix of being spacious but atmospheric. People wanting to eat in silence should try elsewhere. The food was good, the staff spoke German, of course, but excellent English in addition - which was helpful for our international guests. In addition... More

This place is very nice, however, I ordered Unagi sushi and rainbow roll, I have been eating sushi for 25 years including 4 while living in Tokyo, this was well below average and very very expensive (41 CH for a rainbow roll and 2 pieces of unagi). Lack of quality could be for many reasons, based on my experience I... More
