Visit this place every year and always feel the same. First of all, it is a good place to try out famous Swiss fondue (and you have a large choice here). Secondly, the atmosphere is extremely friendly. The Taverne seems family-owned, and that is why you are likely to have nice people around. Better coming there with your friends -... More

based on the positive ratings leading to this restaurnat ranking #3 of all restaurants in neuchatel, we went and were expecting a special evening out. Boy, were we disappointed: Firstly, the menu has a choice of few steaks and a few salads. No fish at all (Neuchatel is situated on the lake?), nothing else. Main focus of the menu is... More

Truly amazing variety of fondue dishes, served in a quaint atmosphere with friendly efficient service. If you find yourself in Neuchâtel, you must make this small restaurant one of your stops for dinner. You will not be disappointed here.

We had a reunion dinner there and the staff were extremely accommodating and gave us a set price with choice of 3 main course options. Very friendly and located right across from the port.

I visited this restaurant in the occasion of a social dinner during a meeting. The place is very nice and warm, as well as is the fondue they are serving! I'm not really an expert in the fondue staff, but it was good really, and with a good wine as well. I tried also the absinth with pistachio ice cream... More

Great experience. Fondue is excellent, a very authentic Swiss experience. Also well known for raclette, though I have not had it here. Overall, the best place for fondue in the town of Neuchatel. Better can be found in surrounding towns, but if you're staying in town, this is your place.

We stopped here as a result of searching on trip advisor and reading the comments. We were on our way to Geneva and had a few hours to spare. The food was really nice, the atmosphere was perfect for a wet November day as you are downstairs. It has an outside area and would be just as pleasant in the... More

Fantastic little restaurant down some stairs and underground. We had a great lunch of filet of chicken breast with mushroom sauce, au gratin potatoes, and vegetables and ordered a mixed salad. They have local wines, which were lovely with the food.

Loved this restaurant which is in between the post office and the university. The owner and staff clearly take great pride and care in the menu and wine list and yet it is also a very fun place to eat. We thoroughly enjoyed our food which was of the highest quality and also were plased that the prices were reasonable.... More
