It wasn't my favorite in Luzern foodwise, but it was very welcoming and there really is someone's Grandma in the kitchen. The host lived in the U.S. and was happy to chat for a while in English. The prices were quite reasonable.

I have just returned from a great dinner at Wirsthaus Galliker - lucerner cheese tart, rosti, pork cutlets. We were on our way to a slick looking outdoor cafe in Old Town featuring rosti. i visited TripAdvisor andnchose thisnplace instead. It was authentic, robust and friendly and much closer to the Old Town hotels than the map appears.
