The restaurant itself is away from the water, but they have waterfront seating that is great. The sausage wrapped in bacon was amazing, as was the mushroom risotto.

Wanted authentic swiss food and came recommended by Viking tour assistant in Lucerene as family owned English speaking good food. 20 min walk from hotel were told kitchen closed until 6pm. Had a beer and looked at menu and fond schnitzel with veal that we wanted. Came back at 6pm and only people on pub side and were seated in... More

Wirtshaus Galliker has become a must-see on our visits to Lucerne: we love the atmosphere of the nostalgic interior in warm wooden colors, the simplicity of the decoration and the authentic local cuisine. We do agree with others though, that the staff behaves weirdly against people from out of town (we're from a different canton only, but even we are... More

One of the trip advisor blogs recommended this place with less tourists, inviting with authentic Swiss food so my sister and I didn't hesitate to go anywhere else. As soon as we entered the restaurant, I had eye contact with 2 waitresses whom totally ignored me then another waitress with a different uniform assuming she's at a higher position looked... More

A slice of old style Swiss cooking. The traditional wooden dining room takes you right back in time. I always tend to eat the same thing a Mixed Salad, the Veal Zuricher (in a mushroom white wine sauce) with the most delicious Rosti (shredded potato fried in a pan) & the Creme Caramel for dessert Perfect! Peter Galliker is a... More

Homey atmosphere, friendly, warm staff! Excellent meal with typical Swiss fare. Quite reasonable prices (considering how pricey meals are in Switzerland). The rosti was delicious and the veal lin pastry was superb! Highly recommend and would definitely return. Seemed to be frequented by locals which made it all the more appealing to us. Reservations appear to be required and it... More

Loved this wonderful restaurant with lots of charm. Excellent service though busy, and very good authentic food. If you like calves' liver it was excellent. Do go, but make a reservation, I just recommended to friends visiting Lucerne and they couldn't get in over their 3 night stay.

Very attractive Swiss restaurant. We were the only non-Swiss there that night. Crowded but good efficient service and very good food

Went here with two friends for a meal. The food was very authentic and the service was very friendly. It's a good a really local and traditional vibe to it. The portions are large though the prices are quite high; then again, Switzerland is an expensive place...
