We had a dinner there while visiting Lucerne in August. We called around 5 to 6 pm and were happy to get seats for 7pm. We were also asked to leave before 9pm. I happily agreed. We just arrived Lucerne and were anxious to explore the city. We definitely didn't plan to spend more than two hours for the dinner.... More

I guess you have to accept the Swiss idea that everything costs more...lots more. Think they have a Michelin star..with a great collection of Mouton that goes way back!! Their schnitzel is their flagship item, which is made at tableside. Very cool and delicious. cost was high but this was a great treat. I had water...there is the rub. At... More

The Old Swiss House is a welcome throwback to Old World dining. Classic in every sense and owned and run by the same family for generations. There is an interesting list of celebs and politicians who have dined here in years past. What sets the Old Swiss House apart from most other restaurants is the service and presentation. Service was... More

We were very much looking forward to our splurge at Old Swiss House, the most expensive restaurant we dined at during our 2 weeks in Europe. The atmosphere -- both inside and out -- is charming, and we were escorted to an elegant table for 2 when we entered the restaurant. Sadly, after our waiter seated us, he proceeded to... More

We were in Luzern for 2 days and a friend recommended us this restaurant. We took a goose liver mousse and a beef tartare like a first and after my husband took a schnitzel and I took a rib eye steak with spinach. Everything was wonderful, the meal and the service. We wanted a table outside and they prepared it... More

Our driver and our hotel highly recommended this classic Swiss restaurant. The ambience, service, and food were superb. We began with cheese croquets with tomato sauce and a goose liver mouse, both were excellent. For the main course we had the Weiner Schnitzel, prepared in butter table side and served with egg noodles. Without a doubt it was the best... More

Our tour group arranged for us to eat in the Old Swiss House and it was very enjoyable. It's on the expensive side but then all of Switzerland is also. I had the veal with mushroom sauce which was a heavier fare but still very good. My wife had fish and enjoyed it. The chocolate mousse was heavenly. Part of... More

We went for lunch and I didn't expect it to be so elegant. But it was a beautiful resturant (even the bathroom are lovely). I had the beef carpacio salad and it was FABULOUS. My husband had the salmon appetizer and they carved it at the table. Service was good and pretty quick. We both had the lobster soup and... More

This place is an experience. Very nice inside. Dress is business casual. We didn't know and wore our sightseeing clothes and stuck out like sore thumbs. My husband got the weiner schnitzel cooked table side and I definitely recommend that. I got the beef stroganoff and the meat was tender but the sauce lacked flavor. Call for a reservation because... The Old Swiss House is a great restaurant if you want to get an authentic Swiss meal in a wonderful setting. The house/restaurant is very old and beautiful. They cook the wiener schnitzel right at your table and it's delicious. There are other great items on the menu. It's not an inexpensive meal but worth the splurge for one night.
