The Lapin is a family run hotel-restaurant situated in the centre of Lucerne and is one of the city's leading restaurants. It has a cosy, rustic appearance and serves modern European cuisine specialising in regional dishes. The menu offers fish, meat and seafood dishes as well as traditional Swiss Käsespätzli (small dumplings with melted cheese) with chives and pumpkin potato strudel with parsley cream sauce. In addition to the standard menu, the restaurant offers a special every day and extensive 3 to 4 course weekly menus. GOOD FOOD AND SERVICE IN LUCERNE

Lapin, a French-inspired restaurant in a small hotel in Lucerne, was recommended by the Maitre D’ of the Old Swiss House when we went there with a group of six with no reservation (bad form, I know). At any rate, the recommendation turned out to be a very good bit of fortune, because Lapin was a... read more

My father and I were part of a small tour group and this restaurant was chosen for one of our meals. Our guide was quite fond of the restaurant and built up the meal quite a bit. We thought we were in for a real treat of “fine” dining. Well that was not the case. The 3 or 4 course... More

The Lapin serves good, solid well-known dishes in a rustic dining room. Our group appeared one Saturday lunchtime without a reservation and had no problem to get a table for five. We ordered a variety of dishes including the veggie plate, roast chicken, veal liver, and schnitzel. All were quite satisfied with their food. Although the prices were not low,... More

Our hotel recommended the Restaurant Lapin, and we weren't disappointed. The decor is warm and relaxing, and the food was excellent. Prices were not unreasonable, and service was good. It was easy walking distance from the lakefront.

Inside this externally unimpressive corner establishment we found a gem of an authentic Swiss restaurant packed with locals who warmly welcomed us and served a delicious lunch at a reasonable cost--a rarity in touristy Luzern. The vegetarian rosti was the best I've tasted and I once lived in Switzerland. Plus the young wait staff loved trying out their English to... More

We had visited Lucerne many times and had tried lots of recommended eating place. This time we decided to try Lapin since it was close to our hotel. The food itself was decent (not exceptional). Prices seemed in line with the other local restaurants. Our server was accommodating and friendly.
