Description: The Montana is a hotel-restaurant in the middle of Switzerland. It is situated right by Lake Lucerne. Diners enjoy haute cuisine in a Mediterranean setting. Offering a diverse range of flavours from Southern Switzerland, Italy, France and Greece, the restaurant has been awarded 15 points in the Gault Millau. The chef Johan Breedijk always cooks using fresh seasonal ingredients. The restaurant also makes its own pasta, cakes and friandises. The wine list offers wines from around the world including about 30 types of wine available by the glass. The restaurant is the place to dine & wine. You can order a 3 to 6 course meal or follow the personal recommendations of the cook when it comes to the standard menu. The terrace has palm trees and offers views of mountains, the town and the lake. The Whisky-Bar offers the allure of jazz and more than 80 different Scottish classic malts.

NOTE: We've been to the terrace -- the restaurant was closed and they recommended the terrace which served a light menu. Hence this review applies to the terrace, rather than the restaurant, but it's still under the same "Scala" brand.

Saw this on Tripadvisor and decided to give it a shot. Had a beautiful table laid out for 7 people although couldn't get a table with views The service was excellent and the food outstanding. The atmosphere was great with live piano. Definitely recommend the scallop soup. Would definitely come back.

Loved this place. We were staying in the hotel but the dinner experience was second to none. Superb food, ambience and service. The breakfast buffet here was also fantastic - don't forget to have a glass of Champagne with your breakfast!

Outstanding food in a restaurant with a great history and atmosphere. The service was excellent and at the same time very personal. The suggested wine was of "local" type and married very well with the menu.I can only recommend this restaurant if you are in Luzern. The cable care to reach the Hotel was nicely decorated for the Holidays.
