Swiss food the locals drive to get

At 7:30 on a Saturday, the only available table was for 5; we ended up sharing with a local couple from the next small town. Asparagus soup was excellent, as was the bread (common in Lucerne); Beef roll with lots of sausage and *really* yummy vegetables; veal cordon bleu was good , not great. Very... read more

We were very excited to try this place. The reviews looked interesting and the price seemed reasonable for Lucerne. And it was just a few steps from our hotel. Alas, the person who greeted (sort of) us was not interested in real communication. She gave us confusing information about whether or not they could accommodate us. She gave a convoluted... More

We were looking forward to eat here tonight. The reviews looked ok, the menu was interesting. We walked in and it took the waitress 90 seconds to go from indifferent to unfriendly to rude. She was telling us that we could eat there, but had an hour to finish and leave. She pointed is to sit in a corner at... More

While in Switzerland, I was eager to try some traditional dishes. At Taube I had the rosti, potatoes, bacon, cheese, tomato, and fried egg. How can you go wrong! It was delicious, though so hearty I barely ate half. It made for a very homey and yummy dinner. I also really enjoyed the ambiance of the restaurant, it is in... More

We saw this restaurant in a guide book and decided to try it out. Prices were as expected as Switzerland in general is expensive. The setting is pleasant and the service was attentive. I had the Rosti and it was good, but not as good as other places. Overall, we weren't disappointed but not overwhelmed either.

We were looking for authentic Swiss food, (rosti specifically hahaha), on our last night in Lucerne. It was a busy night. A bit difficult to call the waitress and we were seated upstairs. The food were pricey and average in my opinion.

This is Swiss Food at its best..... Our first time here was a little intimidating due to the language barrier, but we have been back several times now and the Staff are just a little shy...with English. The atmosphere is very cool and they have multiple level dining rooms. We prefer the downstairs areas, but up stairs can be fun if... More

Our family went here on recommendations from the staff at the Waldstraetterhoff Hotel and Tripadvisor. Both were 100% correct that we could get a great tasting meal at a more affordable price. It was too cool to eat outside (very close to Reuss River on the train side of the river) but we were glad we went inside. It is... More
