I think as everyone has said Switzerland does not do great value but by Swiss standards this restaurant is good value. Good food freshly prepared and served by smiling and competent staff. In other words a good restaurant.

Dine here in summer for the outdoor location, right by the weir with views of the old town. It's a great spot. The food is OK, but not memorable and a busy terrace made for indifferent service.

Somewhere between good and average for food and decor, service had a sense of the military to it. Something lacking from the overall experience to warrant a good rating.

The downstairs had a nice view of the cobblestone street but we preferred the upper level which was nice and quiet. Great food and reasonable prices for the area. Very friendly waitstaff and is in a nice location at the edge of the old town. My only complaint is that there were steep stairs and they said there was no... More

The hotel recommended this restaurant for great local food. We had a party of four - every one of us said that was the best meal of our two week trip. Food was very "homey", filling, tasteful and a great value. Restaurant was a little hard to find - but we are so glad we did. Felt like it was... More

This is a great restaurant near the train station (10 minute walk), on the train station side of Chapel Bridge. The menu is regional food for the area & delicious! I had the fish filet & thought it was excellent...a nice, light meal. The men had the stuffed beef rolls, which were substantial & filling. They were thrilled! If you... More

We were looking for a very local dinner and this restaurant for the bill. The food was outstanding. Meatloaf and beef rolls were excellent. Great choice of wine. Locations easily accessible from train station and Chapel Bridge.

Based on the recommendation of the hotel clerk, we walked to the Taube (near the river and Chapel Bridge). The waitress spoke enough English for this non-German-speaking couple. My husband had ravioli that did not include a tomato sauce and I had the traditional Swiss dish called roschti, which was very good. Like all our meals in Switzrland, be prepared... More

Great location with outdoor seating by the river in Lucerne. The food was good but the desert could have been better. You have the sound of the river rushing over a small weir as you eat. Some of the outdoor tables are in the shade which was great when we were there as the temps reached 38 degrees C.

Very nice restaurant in old town - lots of regional dishes and a short selection of wines including swiss. We had the lamb and the veal dishes - both excellent. Despite the restaurant being crowded we had good service
