Great fondue!

Despite the staff said he did not speak English, we managed to make a reservation in English by phone two days in advance. Lucky we did because the restaurant was extremely busy when we got there. The place was basic, we had a table by the fire place so it was very warm. We ordered and paid... read more

We knew that we wanted to do have a fondue in Geneva, so we asked a variety of locals- this place came up again and again as the best (albeit not all of the locals knew what it was called, they all knew it was the one right on the water.) The place is not what you would expect, it... More

I love this place. Proper French food for half the cost of other places in Geneva. Delicious plat du jour , bircher muesli and coffee. I plan to take all my friends and family who visit Geneve here for a real local experience .

Let's start right away with what you may not like: - it is very crowded at lunch time on a sunny day and you'll queue and you'll have to be smart to get your food quickly (as above mentioned it is the best place for lunch at the lake) - The menu selection is limited And that's it… All the... More

We were taken her over Christmas by seasoned locals who said "this is where you go for fondue". Who can argue with that! We sat at a long table in elbow banging room with the neighbours and steamed up plasticated windows onto the lake brimming with white swans and ate the best fondue I have ever had. Not being local... After almost 15 years in Geneva, Bains de Paquis remains one of my favourite places to eat when I'm not looking for elegance. Whether in Summer or in Winter it offers good food and the wonderful sensation of being close to nature. The restaurant is right in the middle of the lake. In fact I love to eat there when... More

I booked coz on we otherwise u would not find a place..the food is good but, considering the place you have -a little space so close to others- and the service -you have to bring everything yourself, they just bring you the fondue and it takes more than 30 minutes- it is really expensive. 70 chf for a fondue, three... This would be a five stars if you are looking for a friendly, super-casual, inexpensive social place to have a drink or a bite in a unique setting on the lake, with all the vistas, at the site of an old fashioned (and beloved) public swimming pool. It is popular and often crowded but that is part of the odd... More

If fondue is on your to-do foodie list, don't miss Le Bain de Paquis. What Bain lacks in elegance, this little gem more than makes up for exuding character, warmth and coziness with delicious fondue. Located on a pier over Lake Geneva, you order and pay for all food at the counter on the deck outside and then ask the... More

When the staff at your hotel or Tourist Information Bureau tell you that Le Bain de Paquis is the best place for a fondue - beieve them! Go prepared for rustic surroundings but the most fun you can have even if you don't speak the language very well AND the fondue is absolutely beautiful. The daytime menu is good and... More
