A very nice place close to the General Aviation Terminal and other services. Nice place to have wine, bear and steaks. Portions are a bit small for the price, how ever quality is good!

A group of men go here every year after the Geneva motor show. A good ending to a boy's day out at the motor show. It was pretty male this evening but definitely a place for women if they like a good steak and a rather noisy atmosphere. There were a few tête-à-tête couples but this is not the place...

It was my first visit, I went with 3 friends who are regulars there and we had a good evening together in noisy, cheerful, 'beery', mainly male surroundings. Rather utilitarian seating and tables close together, but no harm in that..it helped the atmosphere.
I wasn't really given the chance to look at the menu, the only thing we discussed was...

offer 3 size steaks all names after aircraft. coes in there own unique sauce with fries. you can eat as mush fries and sauce as you want as they will keep bringing more. not cheap but nice food
The truth is this is a CERNie local, loads and loads of CERNies eat at L'Aviation as almost a "local pub" , the waiters are as perpetual as their are jokes. The "Super" is indeed super and not expensive for workers. Great place with all that understood. I have friends (including me) who worked or studied at CERN in 1990's...

L'Aviation is proposing, for ages, one of the best rib steak "café de Paris" in Geneva. Following the well known "Caravelle" (180g) and "Super-Caravelle" (260g), we now have a new choice: the "A380"... and, last but not least, they slightly changed the sauce "café de Paris" recipe -> it's lighter now (true!)
As usual they are proposing additional french fries...

This is not a fine food restaurant but the steak and very good
The restaurant is conveniently located near the tram stop Blandonnet and is always crowded. The "caravelle" consisting of a salad, steak with special sauce and french fries is an excellent choice. A down home place to eat.
This is not for the faint of heart. They feature a heavy steak called a 'caravel' (after the airplane) which is smothered in a rich garlic cream sauce and a huge plate of frites. If you're really in the mood, go for the super-caravel. The waiters have a great sense of humor - whenever we ask for a liter of...

The special (salad, bread, steak in a gravy sauce with fries). Is recommended. The staff speaks French so English speakers are encouraged to know how to translate for choice of meat preparation. Otherwise, decent spot. The lively atmosphere.
