Bring cash, order green salads, fondue and a few bottles of Fendant. Nothing more, nothing less. Off the beaten track but worth finding.

After researching on TA, we selected Cafe du Soleil as it fulfilled our requirement for a local Swiss Restaurant , that received consistently good home cooked food at reasonable prices (For Geneva) away from the main tourist areas. A little effort is required to locate, No 3 Tram/Bus from the Railway Station, 5 minute ride took us to within 100... More

Have the fried cheese called the "malakoff", it's amazing! The fondue is wonderful, try and order a salad on the side to balance out the flavors with the greasiness of the cheese! For dessert, the chocolate cake 😊!

We had a reservation for a group of 16 people. Got a table in a small, cozy room at the back of the restaurant. Fondue was served in traditional way, with bread only. Everyone was happy with the quality of food and experience in general. This is the place if looking for real swiss fondue.

So if you like to try a very traditional and local Bistro, this is one of the best in Geneva. Old furniture, old art, old guard clients, its really good to have that still existing in Geneva. And the food is good and is at the average price.

I went there several times. You need reservation usually and space is a bit tight. Fondue has a lot of wine in it, so you will be happy afterwards :) They have other excellent dishes and my favourite is "Salade paysanne"...yummy...Prices are average for fondue anywhere else in Switzerland. Good place for bringing people coming to UN meetings as it... More

The Cafe du Soleil is truly a genuine taste of Switzerland. Especially in the winter fondue season. If you want to enjoy an evening in a lively restaurant atmosphere then this is the place. The fondues are great and come with mountains of bread. Their are a variety available to suit all tastes. They also have an excellent A La... More

What a nice surprise this place away from the city, like in a small village. What is to be said ? Not much as everything, service, food quality and general atmosphere was just awesome. I was on my own, did not book a table but nevertheless was proposed a quick solution. Great deserts, wine, meat. And very reasonable prices. Only... More

Great location a little bit outside of the city center that makes it even more exclusive, the service is very nice and flexible, the food served is really good and much better because the prices are 30% less than in the city center... Really nice place in summer with the little terrasse!

I was recommended this place by a Swiss friend and I made a reservation months before I was supposed to fly to Geneva. I am glad I did, because else I probably wouldn't have been able to eat there since the place was packed, and I would have hated to miss such an experience. The restaurant is a bit far... More
