Nice place

Relaxed atmosphere, nice outdoor seating area (with vines and trees), authentic local dishes and wines (cheese fondue a must!), and reasonable prices. Packed with locals.

We had two items from the menu: Fondue and Salad. The salad was very delicious. The fondue was a bit too salty and had too much of a strong alcohol taste to it. We didn't interact too much with the stuff, as their English was limited, but they seemed friendly. It was a great first fondue experience nonetheless.

Went as leader of a school group and we had chosen the restaurant based on the good reviews here. We were a large group but we had booked, despite this the service was poor and the food was merely okay. That said there were plenty of smaller groups apparently having a great time.

We attended for dinner previous reservation and the place had good service, tables outside and inside even on a second floor (all of them full or reserved so if you are planning to go call them before). The fondue is very good and the wine is nice.

The Soleil was my crowds regular for 20 years. This is the best known café in Geneva and is noted for perhaps the best cheese fondue in Geneva. Unique salads and few other local food (eg) steak frit. My group met regularly (perhaps too regularly) for beer/ wine after work. Often stayed for dinner. Food serving starts at seven so... More

was last here in Sept 2014 & wrote a glowing report back then as it ticked all the boxes: food, ambiance, service, $. Today, back in Switzerland I eagerly took my husband here to enjoy the same experience...we arrived early for a 1.30pm reservation & were informed that meant we could not have a table in the courtyard or upstairs... I visited here as a party of one while visiting Geneva on business. The fondue was excellent, just a bit too much for me to finish alone after a 1/2 salad. The staff were very friendly and accommodating to an English speaker!

I always enjoy eating there! It is a very comfortable and friendly restaurant. Perfect place for fondue, but also other great options as daily specials (plat du jour) or à la carte, nice large salads. Nice outdoor seating in the summer :-)
