Very cosy place where we ate an excellent cheese-fondue. The place was absolutely packed on a Monday evening and most people there were either tourists or expats, which usually doesn't bode well but this was an exception. The meat didn't look anything special and the salads as starters are disappointing really but I really liked the Malakoff cheese fondue. Excellent... More

Went here based on a recommendation by another visitor to Geneva and wasn't sure what to expect. Was impressed by the malakoff- a sort of fried bread with melty cheese and the fondue did not disappoint. The service was friendly and good and we walked out sated. A colleague who got the cold cut plate as an appetizer was happy... More

Sitting in Cafe Du Soleil, you are surrounded by different languages, laughter in the warm light, and smell of melting Gruyere in fondue pots. We had such a great time that we came back twice. The restaurant, which is situated near the diplomatic district of Geneva claims to have the best fondue in Geneva, I can't compare since I only... More

The menu has changed since we last ate there.... the ambinace, close to embassies, you always see an interesting crowd. Make reservations. The locals in the know have taken us there... old money and new money.

Tiny place with outdoor tables (weather permitting). Limited menu - has fondue, a handful of salads, a few simple steaks, and not much more. However, what they do they do well. I had a steak with excellent French fires, which was simple but dele idiots. Another at my table had salad with chicken liver about which she was leery to... More

I wanted to go for dinner in a local restaurant with Swiss food and Cafe du Soleil delivered. When I called to make sure there wouldn't be a wait they were happy to make a reservation for one which is not common in most restaurants. I had planned to order fondue based on the reviews, but when I saw the... More

Whenever visitors from abroad come to see us in Geneva, we invariably take them to Café du Soleil, to sample their first class fondue. Most visitors ask us to be taken there when they next hit Geneva. We also go there for some of our family celebrations: birthdays etc. We always go for the fondue, so can't say wat their... More

This is a lace where you can get good samples of all foods Swiss. The centenary building has its charms and idiosyncrasies, the service is nice, and the food excellent. The fondue here is well reputed and worth a try, as are other options, there included malakovs.

My first stop when I arrive in Geneva. Informal and traditional restaurant located close to the UN. Maybe the best place where to have a fondue in Geneva. Not really expensive and excellent! Even the food is excellent, service is fair.

We had the great pleasure of eating dinner at Cafe du Soleil this week. We had a lovely, lively, sympatico outdoor meal with our adult son and his girlfriend: three steak entrees and the fish. All were delicious . . . and the frites with the boeuf were outstanding. Friendly service with kind folk who tolerated my broken French with... More
