Very good cheese fondue in a nice restaurant

My sister-in-law took us to this restaurant because it is very famous about its cheese fondue. Of course there are a lot of other choices and possibilities of menu, but the most famous is the cheese fondue. It was really good, very tasty, and the portion is very generous. Since it is very famous... read more

We're meat connoisseurs & enjoyed the best steak ever here-that includes beef from the US, Uruguay & Argentina! We ordered it rare & it came out red & aged to perfection-so tender & tasty-yum! What a treat-bon appetite!

Cafe du Soleil is quite a ways out of the city center, but it's worth the trip. There is a bus that goes to it so it's not hard to get to. The cheese fondue was TO DIE FOR. Also, our waiter was very helpful for recommending wine and helping us find the right price - not to mention he... More

Relaxed atmosphere, nice outdoor seating area (with vines and trees), authentic local dishes and wines (cheese fondue a must!), and reasonable prices. Packed with locals.

We had two items from the menu: Fondue and Salad. The salad was very delicious. The fondue was a bit too salty and had too much of a strong alcohol taste to it. We didn't interact too much with the stuff, as their English was limited, but they seemed friendly. It was a great first fondue experience nonetheless.

Went as leader of a school group and we had chosen the restaurant based on the good reviews here. We were a large group but we had booked, despite this the service was poor and the food was merely okay. That said there were plenty of smaller groups apparently having a great time.

We attended for dinner previous reservation and the place had good service, tables outside and inside even on a second floor (all of them full or reserved so if you are planning to go call them before). The fondue is very good and the wine is nice.

We went to this restaurants because it was close to our hotel, had good reviews, and had fondue which we felt we needed to try since we were in Switzerland. The fondue was quite addictive but something you can only eat once in a blue moon. We felt a little underdressed so I suggest nicer clothes. The waiters were very... More

The Soleil was my crowds regular for 20 years. This is the best known café in Geneva and is noted for perhaps the best cheese fondue in Geneva. Unique salads and few other local food (eg) steak frit. My group met regularly (perhaps too regularly) for beer/ wine after work. Often stayed for dinner. Food serving starts at seven so... More
