On Saturday afternoon, 6 December, my brother-in-law visited in person the Cave Valaisanne to reserve a table for later that evening for dinner. We were a group of 7 (5 adults and 2 children of 6 yrs and 18mths). Our plan was to attend the Marmite Run that evening in which my sister and 6yr old nephew were running and... More

Not the best fondue I've ever eaten, but certainly also not the worst. Raclette was very good. Wine list has enough choice. I do not agree with other comments on this restaurant being a tourist trap, on the evening we visited there was only 2 tables with tourists, the rest were all locals and well known to the staff. The... More

If you want a classic swiss chalet experience (in the heart of the city),this restaurant is the place for you. I went with some girlfriends and we had tomato fondue, raclette and rosti. They had at lest five types of fondue, cheese, tomato, herbs, mushroom...and more. The best deal is the plat du jour which changes daily. There is an... More

This restaurant is to restaurants as those tacky souvenir shops are to authentic collectibles. Maybe this is a little harsh but the general feeling I got was that this place was intended to attract the hungry tourist who just wants something swiss without worrying too much about authenticity. There are certainly a lot worse places to eat and as far... More

We came here because of a recommendation of the cab driver when we inquired about Swiss cuisine. There are two rooms and while the one on the right has a nicer atmosphere the one on the left where we were led was nothing special at all... not even a table cloth. I had a veal dish which is usually very... More

Visitors from Canada wanted "cheese" fondu and raclette on a Sunday in Geneva and this place filled the bill wonderfully. Fondu with cognac was the best. We ate in the chalet side of the restaurant a bit touristy but food and wine made up for it.

I had some friends over for a weekend in December. They wanted to try cheese fondue for lunch, however it was late and no one was serving anymore. We tried this place and they were still serving food. Not the best deco in the world but the waiters were nice and so was the food. We ended up having 1... More
