Good quality, good service, excellent for business lunch

The Minamoto is an excellent place for a business lunch, but it's good for dinner as well. The service is very good and friendly, although staff are not always good English speakers. The food is well thought out and well presented, with a reasonably varied menu, and specialties in ramen noodles... read more

Despite the surrounding area of German train station looks more like Eastern Germany than mount Fujiyama, the minamoto is real and nice Japanese restaurant, not one more sushi bar where you eat expensive rice with a tiny bit of fish on top, but rather a place where you can eat tasty Japanese food, drink good sake and whisky.

Despite a somewhat confusing menu (mainly Sweizerdeutsch) the helpfulness of the waitress and recommendations from the chefs helped this be a memorable meal - tender tuna sashimi (best I've tasted outside Japan) very crisp and tasty tempura, high quality beef and pork shabu-shabu, Asahi Dry beer - perfect experience and an excellent light alternative from usual meaty /cheesy Swiss tradition.... A great place to go. Friendly staff, authentic Japanese kitchen, far beyond the 'normal' Japanese places. It is culinary art. I have been many times in Japan and have eaten in cheap and ecpensive restaurants in several cities. Minamoto is authentic for sure. Also the way it is served is seducing the eye. Nice athmosphere as well with toch for... More

I like the ART+DINE concept where food meets art. The place is unique and the staff is very helpful and friendly.

The best restaurant! The food were really fine! I took the maguro domburi with the fresh tuna. I am in love in this domburi... The Domburi with the meat which my colleague ordered was also tasty! The starters with gyoza and california rolle were also recommended. The monthly Ice cream for the dessert was a good surprise! The atomosphere and... More

We went there with a group of about 20 people. My tuna on rice was pretty good, the small ramen was nothing special but not bad either. Service was rather quick and smooth. I was annoyed that the servant put lots of ice in my drink without asking first. The ice cream was rather good. Altogether this is a good... More

We went to this restaurant at 9pm having previously reserved a table, however, when we arrived we found that we were one of only three parties and that there was plenty of space to chose from. The Black dining rooms and White dining rooms were empty so as it was a warm evening we joined the other guests in the... More

I went there two weeks ago and had a good experience. It is not cheap, but the food is reaonalbly priced (for Switzerland, you will have an other point of view, if you don't live here). As a starter, I had the Sashimi CHF 20.00 which was good followed by the chicken with mushrooms which was more than just good.... More

We have dined here several times and found it pleasant. The food quality is good. The dishes are well prepared, with signs of complexity and modernism, and one can feel that there is passion and love behind. That is always a good sign for any restaurant. I wouldn't say the cuisine offered is typically Japanese but certainly adapted for the... More
